Why does The last Jedi suck so bad?

  • They got rid of Luke's main trait, made him do the same thing his father did nd try to murder a kid. They shoehorned in diverse love interest that only ruined the one truly meaningful sacrifice and both lived. Keeping the plan secret caused unnecessary conflict and rebellion. Kylo ren's character arc was good but then reverted to generic bad guy. The free the animals message wasn't needed

  • You probably hated it because there was no character development, the underlying political under tones, and most of the character we not really intelligent.

    • didn't hate it. Disappointed really. Didn't feel right to me... Unintelligent writing sounds fair

    • Sorry I should have worded it different. Yes I hated the beginning of it. Felt like they were trying to hard to crack jokes. The character development was so bland for me and the ruined Luke and what happened to him was such a let down.

    • Yea the comedy relief was piss poor. Booo

  • The Last Jedi is riddled with feminist SJW bullshit. Kathleen Kennedy is actually wearing a t-shirt that says 'the force is female'. When George Lucas turned over Star Wars to Disney, Kennedy actually lied to his face, telling him that the old Star Wars characters would not be altered, and then proceeded to do exactly that. Kennedy stated that Luke Skywalker would be VERY important in The Last Jedi, and in a sense, that's true, but not for the reason you might think. The purpose of Luke, Han Solo, and Leia in these new films is to lure the old Star Wars fans in, then discard them. Han is killed off, Luke is turned into a pathetic old curmudgeon who also just disappears, but Leia is kept alive, because her character fits in with the feminist agenda.

The women in The Last Jedi are strong, which is fine with me, but do all the men have to be cucked as well? I like Rey, but she's a Mary Sue, and has become the most powerful Jedi ever, with virtually no training. The purpose of Holdo (or Old Hoe) is to smack Poe down and put him in his place, because he's an impulsive, stupid man. Finn has a chance to save the day by doing a suicide run, but Rose rams and crashes his ship, because it's 'all about love', whatever that shit's supposed to mean.

The Last Jedi has a VERY diverse cast, which is fine with me, but do you notice that the bad guys are white males? Oh, we also get to 'save the animals' by having Rose lead that herd of alien creatures through a casino, because it's 'the right thing to do!'

  • They could've definitely handled Luke differently, but I think they need to expand more on the weird connection between Rey and Kylo in the next film, and bring about a satisfying ending (and one that is fairly unexpected)...

The best part of TLJ was the build-up and the fight scene with Snoke's guards.

Definitely a "wow" moment for Star Wars. Unique...

  • - Ruined Luke's character
    - Rose who is even worse a character
    - Admiral Ackbar gets killed to get replaced by a dumb feminist cunt
    - Overly long and uninteresting casino sideplot
    - Rey is still a mary sue character

  • I don't think it sucks, nor do I think it's great.

It's still a fun movie and keeps you entertained. Great action sequences. However the whole casino segment is a drag.

I think the whole "Luke Skywalker was changed and now he sucks" criticism isn't exactly understood. People keep camparing him to his dad. If anything Luke is more comparable to Yoda.

It brings back General Akbar, we get to see Ghost Yoda, and we actually get to see Leia use the force.

There are some political messages that really were unnecessary.

It definitely is a mixed bag, but I really don't think the movie sucked that bad.

  • It's probably the best Star Wars movie.

    • What makes you like it so much?

    • It's new and exciting, which is an experience I didn't get to have with the original trilogy because I grew up after they had already become a part of mainstream culture, and I didn't get to have that with the prequels because the dramatic moments weren't handled well in those films. It's more mature overall than any film since RotJ, with much better character acting than any SW film, a theme that resonates with me personally, and it managed to perfectly capture the identity of Star Wars while also taking a new direction (IMO).

It's far from flawless but so is every other film in the franchise.

  • Because it make no sense

  • Because you don't like Disney? I don't know. I don't know YOU. How can we say what YOU like, when we don't know YOU

    • Disney isn't really a factor in my dislike of tlj. I just thought it was poorly written. The whole casino bit was pointless. I love starwars but was truly disappointed in tlj.
