I picked outher, honestly each dose a Joker, that are all The Joker but are notLedger did a great show but in a way il say his version is very realisticNic (don't want to typo his name, he terrify me outside of Joker role) I think did a very cartoony version of himLeto I think is yet to be seen, when we see a movie where he really showsFor me now the closest will be the Animated versionI think Joker should be a real mix bag, he should not be too realistic or too cartoon he should be so exstream that looking to his eyes will be like looking into the abeese and that kids will not find scary at allChaos only scares adultsI think the best Joker will be a actor of great madness and little CGI magic to make him look like his real, yet some uncanny vally as something is always off (maybe CGI his beard off?)Joker should be so realistic his not real at all in the same time soo cartoony that you can't make any sense of him
I picked the same haha. Specifically Mark Hammill though
I voted Jared Leto. (Don't hate me.) I actually like that version of Joker and Harley. They were pretty much the only good thing in Suicide Squad. I liked their story and the dynamic between them. He gets a lot of flack though.
*Clutches pearls* You wound me! Why must you reject our lord and savior heath ledger!
I watched the Dark Knight once as a kid and never had the desire to see it again. Ledger's Joker scared the crud out of me. Doesn't mean his wasn't a good version though!
Ah I getcha, I was the same way with the X-Files as a kid. Still dont like it as a adult, gives me the goose pimples 😲!
Heath Ledger I would say is the most true to life Joker, an extremely smart and criminal mind and fearless of nothing with a touch of psycho in his portrayal of the joker. -- But Jack nicholson was the most enjoyable - evel, but enjoyable - even a touch of humanity about him. These were far different from the original Joker of the t. v. series of the 60's who is still my ll time favorite villain. But I am glad they never tried to completely copy him but put a different twist on each time the joker appeared. I have enjoyed each of the different jokers portrayals because of this difference.
Mark Hamill... Obviously
Mark is one talented dude!
That is very true.
Have an opinion?
Has to be Heath Ledger, but I'm looking forward to the new take that is coming out. Jared Leto's Joker was a fucking disgrace. All the others were entertaining to watch.
I think Jared Leto's Joker had a lot of potential but for some reason the creators of Suicide Squad decided he would get less than 20 minutes of screentime preventing us to make a complete judgement about it
Jared Leto came off as a crazy gangster person. Not a mad genius or a man corrupted by the world. Which the joker should be.
In my opinion
But that's just it there's more than one way to play the Joker. Heath Ledger was playing a Joker that was a maniacal terrorist. Jack Nicholson was a mob boss. Jared Leto a gang leader. Mark Hamil a mass murder psychopath. Joaquin Phoenix looks like he'll be an insane serial killer. It all depends on what you're looking for.
We also know nothing about Suicide Squad Joker other than he's a gang leader who was Harley Quinn's boyfriend. I heard the Suicide Squad sequel might be a rewrite so if so I hope that they can give Joker more screentime. Idc if it's Leto. It was known before the movie was released that he never broke character so it's not a problem with his acting, it was the writers.
Heath ledger owned it. It's all over. I mean, Jack Nicholson's joker was hilarious and was greeted as such at the time. It was played brilliantly for comedy. Heath Ledger took it to a whole new place.
JN was hilarious l must agree Ledger was a different kind a much darker joker but awesome... Sucks he passed away 😢
Man seems the ladies really dont like heath. I wonder why?
I really don't know the answer to that... Damm drugs its really too bad so many peeps have died because of drugs and alcohol ughh...
I have no strong opinion on Jared Leto's acting ability. I'd class Ledger as a much, much better actor than Leto. (just by going through their previous work) However, I also acknowledge that Leto probably had to work with a toilet-paper script, which explains his appalling lines and the bad writing going on in Suicide Squad.
Heath ledger made the trilogy unforgettable in my opinionBut I really want to see the new adaptation with Joaquin Phoenix
Jack Nicholson was absolutely the best, Jared is my second favorite.Heath wasn't like original Joker at all, he was a totally different character, with no sense of humor.
Definitely Jack Nicholson, no other actor was even close to the genuine Joker character from the comics. Ledger was completely out of character, only the millennial kids praise him, because they don't know what kind of character the real Jokes was in the comic books.
*the real Joker* (typo).
Heath’s version by far, but I’m anxious to see Joaquin’s upcoming take on the Joker, that trailer looks amazing.
Jack Nicholson for me but Heath Ledger was amazing too and had so much more to give before his untimely death.
I have to go with Mark Hammill on this one. He nailed it in my opinion
I think that Heath Ledger was a better Joker than Christian Bale was a good Batman, and I loved both performances. I think that Heath really managed to bring his character to life, while the others look like parodies in comparison. I wonder about the next depiction of the Joker, but it will be ungodly hard to surpass Heath.I can’t help but smile at the fact that a lot of opinions are disliked, but none liked, at least on this question. I know it’s completely unrelated to the subject, but it puts a smile on my face.So go on! Dislike my opinion! I will only laugh harder!
In my opinion, from the most authentic Joker, to the totally inauthentic: Nicholson > Leto > Hamill > Romero > Ledger.
The older Batman stuff with Nicholson is just awful. It’s cartoonish not comic bookish.
If you really want cartoonish Batman, there was Caesar Romero.
@Curmudgeon who? My only frame of reference is what I’ve seen and no I don’t want cartoonish. I like dark and violent.
Well, it was intentionally cartoonish and camp:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK6mDZGNjcghttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_(style)
@Curmudgeon oh well 60s Batman. My 3rd grade PE class was probably darker and more violent than that.
Jack Nicholson does anything close to perfection.I truly admire that man. I don't know how I'll feel when he passes onto the next, but that's beside the point.
I think they're all great, but there is a hierarchy in my opinionLedger > Nicholson > Leto > Hamill
Heath ledger in terms of actual portrayal but just due to him being attractive I did quite like Jaredo leto.
Jared Leto was a case of grest terrible script.
Jack Nicholson, the first Bateman was my fave, I love Michael Keaton too.
Nicholson and from the looks of it Phoenix. The Heath joker was written to be too fast paced and they never develop him as a character.
Jack Nicholson by far is the closest to the Comics ;) Heath Ledger was amazing but Nicholson is simply the best
Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson are my main joker squeezes
Mark Hamil though it depends what version of the Joker you're going for
Health ledger’s version
I'm with you heath is my #1 with mark as #2
I dont like the joker but heath made me like him.
Suicide squad 💙💜 💚
Heath Ledger 1000000%
He is my kind of crazy
Heath ledger for sure!
Ledger. I'd kill people to revive him legendary
Anyone who says Jared Leto is a moron.
Heath Ledger was awesome.
jokic the joker is the best.
Mark Hamill deserves a spot more than Jared Leto!
Heath Ledger was legendary!
Obviously, it was Jack Nicholson, for so many reasons explained here: 7 Reasons Why Jack Nicholson Was a Way Better Joker Than Heath Ledger ↗
Have you ever seen blood in the moonlight? It appears quite bright
I am looking forward to Joaqin Phoenix. I think he'll be my favorite Joker.
