www.bing.com/search Lift Up Your Hands Life is not all that bad, my friend, hmm If you believe in yourself If you believe there's Someone Who walks through life without you You'll never be alone Just learn to reach out, And open your heart Lift up hands to God, And He'll show you the way.And He said, "Cast your burdens upon Me Those who are heavily laden, Come to Me, all of you who are tired Of carrying heavy loads, For the yoke I will give you is easy And My burden is light, Come to Me and I will give you rest."When you feel the world Is tumblin' down on you, And you have no one That you can hold on to, Just face the rising sun And you'll see hope, And there's no need to run Lift up your hands to God, And He'll make you feel all right. And He said, "Cast your burdens upon Me Those who are heavily laden, Come to Me, all of you who are tired Of carrying heavy loads, For the yoke I will give you is easy And My burden is light, Come to Me and I will give you rest."

Hey, Fight Song! Thanks, I was wondering who did that. I like the power chorus a lot. Very empowering and motivating. And her video is good too, and inclusive. See guys - it's not just about feminism and female empowerment - she's got happy guy friends in there too. Really good message. Thanks, I'll save that to my playlist when I need some energy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo1VInw-SKcMadilyn Bailey has a good voice on her, eh? Also a very nice message.Nice meaningful choices. You keep this up, @clos917 , you're going to grow up to be a fine woman.
"Daylight licked me into shapeI must have been asleep for daysAnd moving lips to breathe her nameI opened up my eyesAnd found myself alone, alone, alone above a raging seaThat stole the only girl I lovedand drowned her deep inside of meYou, soft and onlyYou , lost and lonelyYou, just like heaven."Just Like Heaven - The Curehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMlXsKZpd8g
Thanks for sharing. I was never a big Cure fan myself but my husband was, and he always said Robert Smith was such a poet. Nobody wrote lyrics like him.
He's got a reputation for being depressed, but really he's just a big romantic.
"And found myself alone, alone, alone above a raging seaThat stole the only girl I lovedand drowned her deep inside of me"that part's fantastic.
Pictures of YouThe CureI've been looking so long at these pictures of youThat I almost believe that they're real I've been living so long with my pictures of youThat I almost believe that the pictures Are all I can feelRemembering you standing quiet in the rain As I ran to your heart to be near And we kissed as the sky fell inHolding you close How I always held close in your fearRemembering you running soft through the night You were bigger and brighter and wider than snowAnd screamed at the make-believe Screamed at the skyAnd you finally found all your courage To let it all goRemembering you fallen into my arms Crying for the death of your heart You were stone whiteSo delicate Lost in the cold You were always so lost in the darkRemembering you how you used to be Slow drowned You were angelsSo much more than everything Hold for the last time then slip away quietly Open my eyes But I never see anythingIf only I'd thought of the right words I could have held on to your heart If only I'd thought of the right wordsI wouldn't be breaking apart All my pictures of youLooking so long at these pictures of you But I never hold on to your heart Looking so long for the words to be trueBut always just breaking apartMy pictures of youThere was nothing in the worldThat I ever wanted more Than to feel you deep in my heartThere was nothing in the world That I ever wanted moreThan to never feel the breaking apartAll my pictures of you
"that part's fantastic."Those are my favorite lines, for sure.

Oh boy, I have many. But, here's my favorite. ~Came the last night of sadness. And, it was clear she couldn't go on. The door was open, and the wind appeared. The candles blew, and then disappeared. The curtains flew... And then he appeared (death). Saying "don't be afraid, come on, baby". And, she had no fear. And, she ran to him. Then, they started to fly. They looked backwards and said "goodbye". She had become like they are. She had taken his hand. She had become like they are. "Come on, baby. Don't fear the reaper. "~Blue Oyster Cult - "Don't fear the Reaper" 1976.They sure don't write lyrics like they used to. ❤️😎🤘✊💪
Shiiiit. No, they do not. Now you're really brining me back. I loved 'Veteran of the Psychic Wars'. I still can sing all the lyrics to it. I was a teenage rockin out with my turnable, speakers blasting, yeah, Baby.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGi-sOTS5zA
Mines isn't exactly from a song lyric but rather a small snippet from a movie. Can you guess?EVELYN'S VOICE writing a letter Dear Rafe... It's strange to be so far from you in body, and so close to you in spirit. But if our spirits really give our bodies life, then you should know this: Every night I look at the sunset, and try to draw the last ounce of heat from its long day...She looks toward the sunset now; then she writes again...*Rafe brings his battered plane in for a landing...*Rafe sits on his cot, reading her letter. EVELYN'S VOICE writing once again ... and send it from my heart to yours.
No, it’s new to me. Very nice. What is it?
Pearl harbor ;)
I'm a sucker for a good narration in a movie. Such a good storytelling device. They can go so much deeper, because they are not limited by the characters themselves holding back, and what they say to others.
Exactly. The narration in that movie touched me many times :)
"Design all my days, don't let my trend go far away..Create the lifstyle that I wish, will realise that actually there's some space, which could be put to great use according to whatever way I like."They are the chorus of a Chinese song which I just translated for you. The title of the song is Design All My Days.I listen to this song to get myself motivated to do more constructive things everyday cos I am a lazy pig.
Create the lifestyle*
Sorry if it sounds weird in English. Most Chinese songs are just weird when translated to English. Hard to translate it into a way that can bring out its flavour.
No, translation seems fine to me. Just be happy you know both languages so well - good for you. I listen to this song to get myself motivated to do more constructive things everyday cos I am a lazy pig." This made me laugh. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome 😊So much is lost whenever a Chinese song is translated to English. Chinese is more poetic and graphic than English, you see. There are so many Chinese words that could not be translated to English cos these meanings are missing in the English dictionaries.
My favourite song is "Spirit" by The Waterboys, I think around 1984, it was a very short album song I think around one minute 50 seconds, they expanded it later when it got popular but the original still holds most power lyricallySPIRIT::Man gets tired Spirit don'tMan surrendersSpirit won'tMan crawlsSpirit flies Spirit lives When man dies Man seems Spirit is Man dreams The spirit lives Man is tetheredSpirit free What spirit is Man can be My interpretation of these is that people can be broken down for various reasons but they can never control your soul.
Anger he smiles towering in shiny metallic purple armorQueen Jealousy, envy waits behind himHer fiery green gown sneers at the grassy groundBlue are the life-giving waters taken for grantedThey quietly understandThe once happy turquoise armies lay opposite readyBut wonder why the fight is on
Interesting. I always like the incorporation of nature into poetry, etc. What's this about? Some sort of battle/war, eh?
I would interpret it as an internal battle between the complex emotions that inhabit all of us. Others may interpret it differently. But the poetic imagery is captivating, isn't it.It's from the Jimi Hendrix song Bold as Love, the title track of his Axis: Bold as Love album from 1967.The absolutely amazing studio recording is Jimi at his finest. But it isn't available on youtube due to copyright issues. Here are the rest of the lyrics:[Chorus]But they're all bold as loveYeah, they're all bold as loveThey're all bold as loveJust ask the axis[Verse 2]My red is so confident that he flashesTrophies of war and ribbons of euphoriaOrange is young, full of daringBut very unsteady for the first go aroundMy yellow in this case is not so mellowIn fact I'm trying to say it's frightened like meAnd all these emotions of mine keep holding me fromGiving my life to a rainbow like you[Chorus]But they're all bold as loveYeah, they're all bold as loveThey're all bold as loveJust ask the axisBut they're all bold as loveYeah, they're all bold as loveThey're all bold as loveJust ask the axisHe knows everything
Wow. I always appreciated Jimi from afar as an artist and phenom guitar player, but never really looked closely at his lyrics. Some great stuff in there..."Just ask the axis, he knows everything", "Trophies of war and ribbons of euphoria", "Orange is young, full of daring", "happy turquoise armies".
I sometimes wondered if chakras inspired these lyrics, or maybe just rainbows. His Axis and Electric Ladyland albums, in particular, had some unique and lovely poetry. Check this out:"1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)"Hurrah i awake from yesterdayalive but the war is here to stayso my love catherina and medecide to take our last walkthrough the noise to the seanot to die but to be re-bornaway from a life so battered and torn...forever...oh say can you see its really such a messevery inch of earth is a fighting nestgiant pencil and lip-stick tube shaped thingscontinue to rain and cause screaming painand the arctic stainsfrom silver blue to bloody redas our feet find the sandand the sea is strait ahead..strait ahead...well its too badthat our friendscan't be with us todaywell thats too bad"the machinethat we builtwould never save us"thats what they say(thats why they ain't coming with us today)and they also said"its impossible for manto live and breath underwater..forever" was their main complaint(yeah)and they also threw this in my face:they saidanywayyou know good wellit would be beyond the will of Godand the grace of the King(grace of the King yeah yeah)so my darling and Imake love in the sandto salute the last momentever on dry landour machine has done its workplayed its part wellwithout a scratch on our bodiesand we bid it farewellstarfish and giant foamsgreet us with a smilebefore our heads go underwe take a last lookat the killing noiseof the out of style...the out of style, out of style

Her family hosted this German girl, who clearly didn't like my friend, and totally discarded me to hang out with her. Jokes on her though cus the German girl became a good friend of mine instead. In fact more often than not Lisa, the exchange student, and I did school projects together than her and my former friend.
Even the best fall down sometimes. Even the wrong words seem to rhyme. Out of the doubt that fills your mind, you finally find you and I collide. The song is collide by Howie Day for those who are interested. It's one of my favouritest songs ever especially the acoustic version :)

How do you talk to a little baby goat by Tom T Hall. Did I inspire you?
Did you write this because of reading my words on my About Me? That would be impressive.
No, I actually didn't look in to that. Why?

I hope you all see the significance of every motion, every facial expression he's making. He's referencing so many things - slavery, social media addiction, living in a police state, mass shootings. There is a looot of social commentary in every second. Brothers Osborne - Weed Whisky and Willie... Song I played a lot when losing my girl (dog) so it's now her song
What happened to your dog? :(
Adopted her when her owner died but she was already about 10 years old. She got Cushings disease after about a year. We didn't have her long but she touched our hearts
I see. Poor girl :(@Asker Thank you for your invitations. Will come back to answer your questions 😊
That’s a very interesting line. Short, but not something we’ve heard before. I like the addition of vices in there. It’s honest.
Indeed. It was very true during that time. Drink and music kept me going while I was saying goodbye
Exactly. We do as we can to cope with what life throws at us.

What is that about?
The song is about how we make mistakes and how bad things happen in life, but in the end we will all move on and pass away eventually.
“My sword will sing to you, the lullaby of obliteration.”
Daaaam girl. She swoops in again.
What's that from?

I'm listening to it now. It's weird, man! Interesting. I don't listen to music like this really.
Lol what do you like?
I dunno, I suppose like alternative rock and old-school jazz, and classical as well. No "modern country" or rap usually. I don't listen to heavy metal stuff either.
Like rat pack?
Some of that, yeah, but even older than that. Like from the 30s and 40s. Like Louis Armstrong and Billie Holliday and Bessie Smith, for example.
He's decent too, but I don't listen to him much.

I love that line. I reaaally relate to that. He sings it with such passion and longing, too.

I'm glad someone mentioned Eminem. This is not one of my favourite songs of his, musically, , but he is a fantastic lyricist and his innate sense of rhythm is incredible. Very talented ass****.I like 'Real Slim Shady', 'My Name Is', 'Without Me', and 'My Dad's Gone Crazy'.
Eminem is my fav artist ever and the best in the last 25 years he is bigger to music and changed it than Elvis was.
