Dating myself here, but I’m pretty sure it was Adventure for Atari 2600. It’s possible it was Defender too, but I’m like 75% sure I remember Adventure being the first one. Adventure was buttcheeks lmao. Defender was alright but still pretty weak in retrospect.https://youtu.be/yGqZ5eFEdDUhttps://youtu.be/ndjFSmI4EN8Super Mario 3 was CRAZY, I remember that being the first game I ever was anticipating it dropping. They put out this movie called The Wizard, starring Fred Savage of then-current Wonder Years fame, and fuckin’ Beau Bridges lmao, and it’s basically an hour and a half commercial for the Power Glove and Super Mario Bros 3.https://youtu.be/xz1uHCxWxMwGet a load of this hot dog, I thought he was cool as fuck when I was 10😂😂😂...https://youtu.be/AacoxHFYvZwSide note: first NES game I ever played was Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. I remember the first few times Glass Joe TORE MY ASS UP, absolutely bodybagged me lmfao. I was like 7 or 8 but still... hahaha
I no none will believe this, but at 20 years old I've never had a game console, and the only time I've played video games was when I went to Dave & Busters with my father. My mother didn't like anything like video games. We had an upright piano and I took piano lessons for five years starting at 10 years old. We lived in the public housing projects and my mother believed that if anyone thought we had Nintendos or Xbox we would only get burglarized for it. Not to many thugs are going to try to steal a piano.
Kind of all started when we borrowed a Sega Genesis from a family friend. I played a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog on that thing before we gave it back. Shortly after my parents got me a Gameboy Color with some Pokémon games since I got into watching Pokémon on TV.
It was Lamborghini Diablo challenge on pc. Early 90s I believe. You had to race other lambos across different American cities and some were harder. Boston had cops chasing you I recall. Pretty awesome evolved game for the time as you could even buy upgrades for your car.
To my memory I would say it was specifically the OG Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt chartrige in the NES (yes I had the lightgun for duckhunt). After that Super Contra.
I believe it was an Odyssey, but it may have been an Atari 2600. I had friends with both, and I didn't get a 2600 until they were already out for a year.
1999 Starsiege Tribes - PC
Console would've been Mario Kart 64. PC would've been Age of empires.
I think Doom, but the SNES port. My dad played the hell out of it and it's the most distinct early memory of a game that I have right now.
Probably a gameboy Super Mario Bros or Link’s Awakening. Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time are also some of my firsts. I’ve wanted to make my own video games ever since Ocarina of Time!
It was super Mario on NES...it was like omg what is this lol, I didn't even own the console until later it was at a family friends house. It was like woah you can jump lol
