Well if you consider that I would never listen to most of the songs this woman transposes, then she really goes above and beyond. I doubt I would ever enjoy these songs without herhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHUks9-but0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALg2XICmJjIand he does a great job on this Prodigy tributehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIpOxa5hxOw@21:25 (time tags never work in this) Dm3 does my favorite version of Cheap Rewards (Elvis Costello) and its just up tempo enough to make the differencehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqMdNFKH2hIOh and if you want a fantastic performance of Chopin Etude Op 25 from The Green Book, Lisitsa is my go-tohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx6-Z0nsWnw
although admittedly sometimes others are their own genius themselves, the way he offers each measure, each note deliberately -- it's how you transform a piece into your own and bring it to lifehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCm9O2KNEX4
I love this question...so some of my favouriteshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8AWFf7EAc4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FywSzjRq0e4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gVxRvNfFLghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CQLAhNlbfQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAI_Nv3qWtohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyOzGPbn2tghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDyb_alTkMQhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLV4_xaYynYJust a few where the artist has put there own interpretation of the song into it, that's surely the whole point of a cover version.
I'm going to have a listen to all of them... lol
I will co-sign with these picks, AndrewMG.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTfHhNg1iIIJoan Jett's cover of Tommy James & The Shondells' "Crimson And Clover"in my opinion, this is one of the greatest covers of all time. Tommy James, the songwriter and original artist, agrees.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9X6e7uctAwwVan Halen's cover of The Kinks' "You Really Got Me" Even Dave Davies thinks they knocked it out of the park.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nAON-MwUPYSiouxsie And The Banshees cover of Iggy Pop's "The Passenger" Siouxsie does a number of covers, and they are all good, but this one is just driving and full of energy, and those horns are amazing.
I'm a big lover of all music, I classify myself as a metalhead, because heavy music is the zenith of the soul for all people who listen intently to popular music. But I would choose a song by Stevie wonder, its "lately" covered by an RNB band called Jodeci, which I also think is the best RNB band of the 90's, the tambre of their 4 voices really cuts deep into you when listening to a song which is basically about Stevie's unrequited love for a woman who just takes him for granted, it's a really sad and beautiful song that I have always loved.
forgot this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgNeBNMJFZs
this is the best cover fo all time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDyb_alTkMQ
Emmeline cover of "Baby One More Time" https://youtu.be/WnZsCBOdfG4Jeff Buckley cover of Hallelujah https://youtu.be/y8AWFf7EAc4
What a cover Hallelujah is! I love this question is... I'm busy compiling my list!
I actually did a whole MyTake on this exact subject. I'll go with the amazing cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by Tom Petty, Prince, Jeff Lynne, Dhani Harrison (George Harrison's son), Steve Winwood and some other friends of George Harrison in his and Prince's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
Prince's solo was one of the greatest live guitar performances of all time. He shredded, but with taste and class...
So many Bob Dylan covers:Diana Krall -- Simple Twist of FateMylie Cyrus -- You're Gonna Leave Me Lonesome When You GoSteve Earle -- One More Cup of CoffeeZiggy Marley -- Blowin' in the WindXimena Surinana -- I Want You
It helps that Bob Dylan can't sing for shit.
Sepultura's cover of Motorhead's Orgasmatronhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oRsw1wuhaA
The 1998 Karen Ramirez cover of Everything about the girls 1993 'Didnt know I was looking for love'I like both but the remix is better.
Der Kommissar cover by After The Fire is better than the Falco original. https://youtu.be/vBfFDTPPlaM
Metallica's cover of Nick Cave's song Lovermanhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Tl18T38P4
Land of confusion - disturbedSmooth criminal - alien ant farmWe got the beat - bile
Basically any rock cover of a hip-hop or tswift song is going to be better than the original.
Aerosmith - Come Togetherhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo4GJ6YdDeY
I completely disagree with this one. John Lennon singing this song is far, far better than Tyler. I like Tyler, but this song is not made better by them.
@loveslongnails I enjoy the Beatles t no end. Lennon was way ahead of his time. But this song is better by Aerosmith. To each his own.
Eddie Vedder's version of "Let my love open the door" by The Who.
The Beatles "Roll Over Beethoven" is much better than the original Chuck Berry version.Dwight Yoakum's "Little Sister" is better than Elvis Presley's versionCheap Trick's "Ain't That A Shame" and "Don't Be Cruel" are better than the originals.
There a few that come to mind. But I have to say Motley Crue’s version of Helter Skeltor (Beatles)..Also done by Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson ( not my favorite either)...
Woodkids version of Happy is betterSound of silence by disturbed is better too
I like the radioactive cover by Macy kate. I found it on YouTube and loved it
Hendrix's cover of All Along the Watchtower https://youtu.be/TLV4_xaYynY
Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm is far better than the Michael Jackson version.
https://youtu.be/cLs0oWq2ovoNeon Jungle - Waiting Game
The frog leap studios cover of Africa by Toto is much better than the original in my opinion.
The cover of Joni Mitchell's song Woodstock by CSNY
Disturbed's Sound of SilenceIts hauntingly beautiful. Davids voice fits that song perfectly tge way he jumps from etheral vocal to typical Disturbed growl works so well with the song
Johnny Cash's covers of Hurt by The Nine Inch Nails and Desperado by The Eagles.
Bad wolfs cover of Zombie, Or Disturbed sound of silence cover
Disturbed’s cover of The sound of silence
Alien Ant Farm's version of Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson
