All types so long as its interesting. Realistic isn't necessarily boring, but I think its frequently done in a boring manner (For instance the real life story of Frederick Russell Burnham is fascinating (apparently for him the wild west was not wild enough. He found it was too tamed so he went to Africa. He is what the character Alan Quartermane (old adventure pulp novels) was based off of who which itself was the inspiration for Indiana Jones)). Personally I enjoy science fiction (love ideas especially the what could be that is found in science fiction) as well as fantasy (specifically I love studying folk lore and mythology so things that incorporate those elements are especially appealing (Neil Gaiman for instance (many of his works have been turned into shows like American Gods and Good Omens for instance)). Basically anything interesting that inspires new ideas or takes a different approach to old ones.
Sounds super intresting though i admit im a bit confused about it 🤣
Alan quatermane was a pulp character, that was the magazines back in the day, pulp magazines, which had short stories (Characters and stories like Conan the barbarian, The shadow (probably to young for that one), the phantom etc.(kind of the precursor to comic books as well as many fantasy writers (horror writer H. P. Lovecraft was a pulp writer (if you have ever heard of the name Cthulu or Dagon or the Necronomicon, all of that was from Lovecraft (he inspired many horror writers (completely revolutionized the genre) like Stephen King for instance)), so was the guy who created Tarzan)). comicartcommunity.com/.../Basically the guy lived in the wild west but as it became too tame for him he moved to Africa which was far less industrialized and mostly still jungles, savanna and nature in general (little was known of Africa at that time (late 1800s) so it was refered to as the Dark continent because of that (not a lot of the African tribes had written histories so everything was brand new to Europeans). So he ended up fighting on the side of the British in several wars, using his scouting skills he acquired in America when he lived among the native americans. Its basically an action adventure story only real. So some one took his life story and modeled it into a story about an adventurer named Alan Quartermane who would have adventures around Africa. Also had several movies about based on the books: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allan_QuatermainLike I said though, most of these are probably a bit before your time (to be fair most of these are a bit before my time as well).
Ill check them out since im curious now 😆
Go for it! Their kind of old (1930s to 50s for most of them) but they actually inspired pop culture massively (for instance the domino mask (the mask that Robin from batman wears as well as many other comic book characvters) was directly taken from The Phantom), HP Lovecraft inspired all modern horror (he focused on cosmic horror rather then supernatural, that is alien beings, either from space or from other dimensions which where so alien and powerful ancient man worshipped them like gods (cosmic horror deals with the insignificance of humanity, that we will be destroyed not because we are a threat but because we mattered so little to these beings that they didn't even notice us (basically we are ants in comparison)) etc.).
I love fantasy novels, specifically sword and sorcery. Nothing like a brave hero chopping down villains, learning moral lessons, and then saving a princess <3 I also enjoy manga, but I haven't read one in a while. Lately I dont have time to read stuff which I enjoy. I read a lot of history books :) I am an aspiring historian :) As far as watching goes. I enjoy watching stuff like Lord of The Rings, Conan the Barbarian, and various anime. I dont watch TV. Oh and I watch youtube videos about how to do things, even if i dont end up doing them
Uh can i ask what anime your profile picture is from?
Record of Lodoss War 1990. :)Its an old 90s anime haha. Tbh I like it a lot, the soundtrack and art is probably the best thing about it. The story is ok. Also its only 13 episodes :)
Sounds cool! Should i watch it? 😮
Tbh, Only if you are into sword and sorcery genre. Its plot is very cliche and the characters aren't developed enough because its only 13 episodes...I think there are so many better animes. But the art in Lodoss is so nice :)https://youtu.be/ohw1dkJYNMY
Honestly it all can depend on the writer itself. Some are so good I would love to just read their groceries list. But, to me, as long as there's some good romance in it, I'm often game.I've rarely been interested if there isn't some romance.
I like reading horror and I love to watch comedy, fantasy, and mystery
I'm absolutely hooked on Komi-San can't communicate.
What is it about?
It's a manga about a high school girl. She is beautiful, talented etc but has crippling anxiety and confidence issues that stop her from being able to talk to anyone. It's very funny and sweet!
Sounds really fun but ouh maybe bit too reletable XD
