I did to and Chris Squire of Yes
Another great one, although I’m not really a Yes fan. JPJ and Geddy Lee are also up there, of course.
They are the four very best with JPJ being the most underrated by far
He’s also the one with the most musical training. A classical background, just like me. He did orchestral string arrangements for REM in the early 90’s.
I didn’t know that about his training. That’s cool
and the beatles music isn't rock enough to be the greatest "rock" band
of the choices I said Led Zeppelin
Oh it's more than rock worthy. 'Only A Northern Song' is rock. 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' is rock. 'Helter Skelter' is rock. You're only 18, your understanding of what "rock" is still limited.
Queen is indeed legendary and I had the pleasure of seeing them but they came after these guys. Don’t forget all The Who songs you hear on TV to this day. Does the CSI family come to mind?
@october, I grew up listening to rock music, if the music has already been released, then it isn't limited dude
Beatles are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s interesting to a huge illuminated sign at the entrance to the Hall quotes a Who song “Long live rock”
@reptocarl, I was answering as if it were decided among the general population, not my personal preference. Queen just happens to have the most legendary rock songs that are known among a wide audience
Disagree. They’re just newer
The 70s is new? Just because they didn't form in the 60s doesn't mean they aren't a rock band
You hear all of those bands music on TV commercials to this very day
How does that make them new?
Is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame really living up to its name anymore? Now that they’re letting in rappers and pop stars like Madonna, that is.
@musicbrain5 I know some of their choices and the timing of some inductees has dumbfounded me
Lately I’ve been baffled by the choices. It’s like they’re trying to give everyone a participation trophy or something. Let them get their own hall. Country music has one. Rap is not rock music.
@musicbrain5 I don’t think so either. I couldn’t believe The Beastie Boys and Joan Jett went in before Rush and The Moody Blues
What does that have to do with what I said. Queen is a rock band oh my
This was a poll of the pioneers
look I don't get your damage but I have listened to rock music, all kinds of rock music, just because my opinion isn't what you wanted doesn't mean that it isn't a valid one lol
Because they're all equally great, and which one I presently prefer largely depends upon my current mood.

Overrated or not they’ve all left a legacy and influenced virtually all rock bands that followed
Motorhead and iron maiden are better

They came after and were influenced by these guys
No AC/DC. They came after and were influenced by these guys
