That said, you still can reference the artist/author/book provided that you do so as describing the impact of the artist/book on the character. You cannot fictionally use real persons or their arts without their permission. That's what copyright is all about.
Here is something good. Mariah Carey based her hit "Fantasy" off of "Genius of Love", but she gave credit where credit is due so the Tom-Tom Club made money from that song.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq09UkPRdFY

What's a favorite that you've discovered?
Have you discovered anything good?
Lol of course! Why would you research it if you're already familiar?
Well just because you know about something doesn't mean you know about something in depth. For example i'm a Chicago Bulls fan i read Coach Phil Jackson's book "Sacred Hoops" and it gave me a glimpse into the mind of coach Jax. It opened my mind to Philosophy, Zen Buddhism, Native American teachings, and Rudyard Kipling. All of which i knew existed but would not even have had a reason to give a look if not for that book. That's all i mean
Gotcha! So did you research those things further after reading his book? Or was the insight from the book enough?
Some i did some i didn't. I mean this goes back to college. And after reading that i took a Philosophy course, It ended there lol. I think i'm like anyone, take what you can use, what talks to you, what helps make sense of life, discard the rest. But sometimes something you read, experienced or what have you changes you and you don't even realize it. I think this helped me later with my faith. Coach Jax was raised a devout Christian but never felt connected to god. Through his life he's taken a meandering path it taught me faith is easier for some then others, and some people it takes years. And it's ok to NOT always understand. Even now!
And? Anything good?
Interesting but nothing that I can say hit close to home.. but I have read many of books because of this thing. Like zen, great Gatsby, huckleberry finn. The more i read inspiration literally comes from anything or any word
Yes. There is a song I'd have to go back and look up the name but I saved it to my youtube account. It's a song that is deemed to be cursed, many have apparently killed themselves listening to the song including the original writer and his Ex. It was eventually banned in it's original country. I wasn't affected
It hasn't changed my life but it was definitely interesting
Ohhh om curious to know what it is!!
