I don't care. To be honest, I don't care what anybody's orientation is or what they identify as.
Are you physically male but like other males but also identify as a girl? Are you physically a girl, like guys but identify as a guy? Are you a hermaphrodite that likes sea sponges but identify as a head of lettuce?
I don't give two craps. It has no impact on my life. I don't go prancing around telling everybody what I identify as or what I like to have sex with, or if I have sex at all, because it's nobody else's business and the reality is that nobody cares.
Let's say I look like a guy, but someone calls me a she. Or maybe I identify as a girl but someone labels me a He... Am I supposed to get offended and stir up a scene to correct others into labelling me as I want to be labelled?
No, because I don't care about labels or what others think of me. I'm not on this planet to impress others or to seek their approval.
Maybe these things are important to others, so be it, but not to me.
If you physically look like a girl but identify as a guy, but I call you a she or her or whatever, it's not that I'm purposely trying to offend or piss you off. That's what you look like, so that's the go-to identifier. I don't read minds. If you say you want to be identified as a guy, look... I'll do my best, but if I slip up, it's because of 40 years of conditioning. Growing up, you has straight males, females, gay/lesbian males and females, bisexual males and females... and yes, transgenders, but personally, I just lumped trans as just gay/lesbians who also want to look the part as the gender suited towards the sex they're attracted to (you like guys so you want to look and feel like a girl etc.)
Yeah, that approach seems simplistic and maybe narrow minded by today's standards, but regardless, at the end of the day, you do you. I don't care.
But I'm also not going to start meeting new people and acknowledge them as "Generic Human #782" until they inform me what sex they believe themselves to be. I don't have the patience for that sort of shit.
You say you're a dude or a girl, fine. Whatever. But don't get pissy if I slip up. If you call me a chick or an antelope, I won't hold it against you. Fair is fair.

I don't think that's what transgender should mean. It doesn't make sense that a person who goes through series of surgeries and procedures to resemble the other gender is same as a woman who one day thinks she's a man. It's not fair for the actual transgenders to use the same term.
As far as I know she's a lesbian woman who one day decided to identify as a man. But that doesn't make her a man and doesn't obligate others to call her "he". That's like me claiming I'm a lion and if anyone refers to me as a human they are zoophobic.
If you can just choose to identify as any gender and any sexuality at any time, then what if a straight woman starts to identify as a man. Since she's still attracted to men that makes her gay man. So now the guy who has sex with her officially had sex with a gay man. We can now truthfully say he participated in homosexual intercourse, no questions asked. You must be fucking braindead to not see how nonsensical that is.
I’m not into the whole transition surgery. But who am I judge since I have dysmorphia myself by admitting I do want plastic surgery on my face.
Though I always thought Ellen page was soo pretty and I liked her nose. As I wanted the idea of getting nose surgery and having it shaped like hers. It was nice and she had such a beautiful feminine face. But she never came off as feminine. She was always dressed as a awkward tomboy in all her movies and in real life. First movie I saw her in. She looks very European hereJunoWhip it (she looks so pretty here)Whip itNow that she is transitioning, it is kinda sad/disappointing to see that beautiful face go.
I think everyone nowadays is trying to follow some kind of a trend. You never know who is attention seeking and who has actually had a tough time, struggled with their identity and finally accepted who they are. Usually the latter don't boast about it. It seems like everyone nowadays wants to be something. If not a transgender, then vegan, if not vegan then a feminist, if not that then a victim of some sort. I wonder when people will just be proud of being people without having to label themselves as anything else.
I'm sorry, in advance, for saying it is People like you, abusive, judgmental Idiot who justs think about themselves , and how their right-handed play is totally messed up, because someone you lusted, and got off to, figured out that she isn't what everyone though, and she found herself, in a different way!
I thought she said she was TRANSEXUAL, not "Heterosexual" as you post?
SO WHAT? If she is Trans, and feels like that? Who are YOU to judge?
I totally support her, and think she is AMAZING, and just openly choosing to be who "She" really feels like he is!
He's clearly suffering from mental illness. Anyone who actually believes they are the opposite gender and has convinced themselves needs to have a serious mental examination. It's odd to me that we enable delusion at this point. If I was schizophrenic, and I believed there were ghosts living amongst my house and befriended them- should my family tell me that they are real and go along for the charade? Or should my family tell me that something is wrong, get me to a mental health professional and maybe take lithium so that I can live a normal life?
I mean technically transgender people have what is called gender dysphoria. And according to research transgenders brains operate more similarly to the gender they are transitioning to.
*she... that was taken down as offensive, but it was a typo as I meant to type she in the beginning. Recognizing someone as their biological gender when they just switched genders today is not offensive lol. Damn snowflakes

She's in for a rude awakening if she thinks being a man is some great thing that's going to magically fix all her problems. She's going to have way bigger problems as a man than she would as a woman. As a woman she's cute and petite. As a man, she'll be seen as a pathetic little creep. She thinks she's going to storm into rooms and command them with her presence because she sews on a fake pecker?
I am definitely among those guys who had a crush when we saw her in inception. Lol. But now as she has come out as transgender, i don't feel the same way any more.
Though on her becoming trans, it her business let her do what ever makes her happy.
Well I am referring to the past. So I use the definition of the past. If I wanted to use the present I would have. So I don't think it is worth correcting me because my opinion of the present situation is not necessarily reflected.
I will stick to grammar thanks not political correctness.
An d when I decide to talk about the situation. As it is in the present, I will use the politically correct terms.
I don't care what an adult does with their own lives as long as they aren't hurting anyone physically. Children, on the other hand, I have a big problem with the parents pumping hormones and other chemicals into their bodies without a full understanding of the consequences of their decision. The brain isn't fully developed till the ages of 24-25. Drinking, smoking, drugs will hinder the growth of our brains and will have a lot of other physical and mental issues later on because of these hormones and chemicals

She - sorry, he - still wears her/his hair long in a feminine style, and had already stated a long time ago that he/she was gay, and that's perfectly fineBut I can't understand why 'they' (he want's to be referred to in male or non-binary terms, so 'he' or 'they') want now to be seen as male -- he/they still has a vagina ?

He/she is also fiercely feminist, which again is fine, but to now declare "I am male, non-binary' when he/she was already known to be non-heterosexual seems kinda odd !
He is a male with vagina, didn't you knows that males can have a vagina? how could you? :)

Idc it is their choice. ... but when is the next season of umbrella academy? Lol
geez the pronouns in the English language are becoming even more confusing. Tbh people should make a new one that is singular and gender neutral... i vote huzzah jk byeee✌️
I liked Page in Juno and now to think about it "Hard Candy" was kinda telling. I'm impressed with her acting abilities and her professionalism. Her personal life is none of my business and I refuse to judge anyone by it.
I had to take the past two days off due to being overwhelmed with excitement and joy. We are having a non-binary, cisgendered pansexual party that features organic quinoa burgers and Bernie Sanders worshipping. Gonna be AMAZING.
Yes, sarcasm. How do I feel? I... Don't... Give... A... FUCK! Just another whacked out, crazy libtard.
Well first she was a lesbian and now she's a man Can't work out if its a mental health crisis or a PR attempt. I wonder if "he" now a straight man or a gay man. Very confusing. All I know is that she is pretty and has lovely pert tits and I would Smash her back doors in.
Confusion on why anybody would want to transition into a balding Matthew Broderick, whilst being shorter than Mr. Broderick. Was previously a ageing C-lister, with a few screws loose, and has a Five head. Now they will be twice forgotten once the smoke clears, and dead by 50 due the testosterone meds. Never saw some one so eager to rush off into oblivion.
I hate questions like this. It is not yours or any of our places to pass judgment on anyone else’s personal choice. It was irresponsible and insensitive of you to open this question and create a space for people to voice hatred. Any positivity happening here gets quickly overshadowed by someone else’s homophobia and ugly opinions. It’s quite disgusting.

I don't know. . . I guess I felt kind of sad. I knew she was gay. But transgender? Well anyway, I love her character in Umbrella Academy.
still a he, not hard to be respectful of how others want to be known, there’s enough hate and bitterness in the world, respecting how someone chooses to present themselves isn’t going to make you spontaneously combust I promise ❤️
@Berethor Why the fuck do you care what she/he does? It ain't our business. But if I misgender her, it ain't on purpose. I loved Ellen Page's work. It is gonna take some getting use to.
It’s none of your business anyway so don’t worry about it, what he chooses to do to his body is up to him, not you, not me. It’s so easy to not be a douche and not purposefully make someone feel bad. don’t be disrespectful, it makes you age faster x
Bruh what is your issue? Kay sure you don’t agree with it but why go out of your way to make someone feel bad? Are you that miserable with your own life that you like basic respect for other people? My god there are plenty of things that I don’t agree with but I don’t take the time to bring people down for how they choose to live their life... why is it so hard to just respect someone? what is it costing you just to let someone feel comfortable by identifying however they want? nothing, absolutely nothing. Hopefully one day you’ll learn to respect others.
Have you ever just sat down and though ‘I don’t agree with what this persons doing, but I can see that it makes them happier and more comfortable so I will respect their choice’. It’s that simple. Or would you much rather see a person miserable because you chose not to respect them even though what they’re doing has zero affect on you or how you live your life.

I’m glad he’s confident enough to come out about it now! It must be miserable to see the world referring to you as something you’re not, especially as a public figure, where your image is your whole career. I wish him all the best!
Besides, I can still enjoy his previous movies and characters. (I’m a huge x men fan.) It doesn’t hurt me. So why would it bother me?

It's stupid, she already come out as lesbian, she don't need to come out with additional nonsense, she is 1.55 cm tall how she going to be a "man?" and it's a self-mutilation in any case.
Questions: if this person identifies as binary, why have a preference on the pronoun? Makes no sense. And just because she feels like a man (as indicated by the choice of pronoun) it doesn't make her one. Feelings are not facts.

Bored. Boy George was right when he said pronouns are "a modern form of attention seeking." There's a lot of attention whores saying, "look at me! I'm special because of my sexuality". It's boring whether they're straight or not.

She was such a cute girl. Whatever she identifies herself as, she’ll always be Juno to me. I hate to pigeonhole someone so much, but i can’t see her as anything else. I don’t think changing from her to him change that.
I don't care. Does it make any difference for me? No.

Hot either way. I don't like the pronoun thing tho, it feels weird because I can't unsee a -biological- woman 🤷🏼♀️ I wish religions hadn't imposed only two genders (other cultures had more)
Religion follow biology in that case, there is only two genders, and there is mental illnesses.

@Berethor That's your opinion and that would be sex and not gender you're talking about. Also XX and XY aren't the only two possible combinations and some people are born with male and female genitalia. Gender is made up, gender changes through history and it's different in every culture. Gender is a role dictated by society, it's a social construct. Wearing pants have nothing to do with biology but still it's *expected* from men to wear them and not skirts
I can’t keep up with Hollywood drama. I guess if she wants to change sex because she is bored and wants attention it is whatever. It isn’t something to be proud of or advertise. You would not advertise the fact you have schizophrenia, aides, or have diabetes. Why be proud of the fact you have gender dysphoria? It doesn’t make sense why people look up to a disorder. It is between her and her doctor and therapist.

Don't know who that is and don't care. Hollywood awards go to people that push Hollywood agendas. They gave Cuomo a shiny chunk of metal. They nominated a tranny for another shiny chunk of metal. That’s not an accomplishment.
'm happy for him especially that they felt brave enough to do that. He's a great actor and i can't wait to see what else he stars in I kinda hope that it transfers over into the Umbrella Academy but it's fine if it doesn't

She wanted to push more of the buttons on the LGBTQIAPB dashboard and wants the attention that will get her.
@Berethor Well of course she's a girl. That's why the producers cast her to play a teenage girl who gets pregnant in the movie "Juno." I can claim that I'm an alien from the planet Lepton all I want. And "progressive" advocacy groups can demand that I be referred to with Leptonese pronouns all they want. But my claiming that doesn't make it true.

I always thought she was a lesbian but transgender? No way.
If she think she's a boy for being attracted to girls then she's pretty delusional.
It's ok if she's a lesbian but if she thinks she's a boy then well that's a mental illness

I feel bothered by it. Not by her choice, its her life. But by the lack of logic around the whole "trans" fad that's going on. The more people start changing pronouns, the less pronouns actually mean.
his pronouns are he/him, not she/her. being trans is not a "fad". if you have a more accepting society, of course more people with come out as trans or be comfortable in finding themselves.
what "lack of logic"? science and medicine support trans people. you treat gender dysphoria (which you need to be trans) by confirming to the gender identity that the person feels, according to medical professionals.
how does a person changing their pronouns make pronouns mean less? are you skunked? pronouns align with gender expression, not identity. more people changing pronouns doesn't make pronouns mean less. im pretty sure you don't actually care about the meaning of pronouns and what they stand for, you just want a reason to be transphobic lmao.
@pbj-bro well, the lack of logic stems from the definitions of the words being applied. "He/him/his" refers to a male individual. If we expand that definition to include anyone who "feels or identifies as male", then we have to consider the definition of what a male is, which is "a person with XY chromosome and having the male sexual reproductive organs." Clearly, Ellen does not have these physical and chromosomal attributes. Then if she identifies as something she physically is not, then it necessitates that the definition of the word "male" has to change. But what should it change to? How should being a male (or female) be defined? Should it be based off of feelings? This, then, begs the question of how is a man or woman supposed to feel that makes them uniquely that gender? This is where it falls about. There aren't any feelings that can be uniquely attributed to a man that makes him a man. We all feel the same emotions and the only differentiating qualities remain physical. A biologically born woman that wants to use male pronouns and a biologically born man don't belong in the same grouping because, by definition, they're not the same.
I've heard that pronouns are supposed to align with how one identifies oneself. If what you say is true, then 1) it seems there's inconsistency with what pronouns are supposed to represent, which just adds to the confusion and 2) it further muddies the waters because it begs the questions of how male vs female expression is so defined, how many possible expressions are there, does each expression require it's own pronoun (and if not, why), how are such expressions identified by the casual observer, and how expression is different from personality.
It seems that the whole trans movement has taken a very simple, definable binary classification and opened up a can of worms, dumped it on the ground, and left it there.

I find it strange that this is the same person who used to complain about being oppressed because she is a woman or something like that. This sounds like an inconsistency that she is trying to regain relevance.
I think its a shame yet another straight white male has taken so many acting roles away from women. He is a misogynist plain and simple. Women should be chosen to play female parts. We need more representation not less. Elliot should be canceled.
I don't care what she/he calls herself/himself but it's a little weird that we seem to be expected to pretend that "Ellen Page" never existed and that most of what she's notable for was done under that identity...
Meh. didn't know about them. Still don't. So don't care.
