She is not just a singer, but a writer too. She writes her music. She sang backup. She was the only person to have a a number 1 hit every year for a single decade (90s)
When Tommy Matola/Columbia Records told her they owned her sound (they said they owned her voice). She changed her sound, and proved she didn't need them! To be able to reinvent herself and still be successful is a huge deal!
The record labels told Prince they owned his name. So he changed it to a symbol (he became the artist formerly known as Prince) because Eff them! Prince was his borth name by given to him by his mother.
Mariah is not just a gifted musician and song writer. She is a legend.
i work in the music industry and i would say right now it's Ariana Grande (i don't work for her), and Dua Lipa is next (not quite there yet)

Ariana is a pop star, yes... but in her prime, Mariah's voice sounded more developed to me. She has a 5 octave vocal range, while Ariana has 4. Mariah has been around over 20 years and amassed 18 number 1 hits. Arianna is just starting. One disadvantage for Ariana is that she's currently pigeon holed into music that sounds basically the same. Hopefully she grow out of that.
If you're going strictly by vocal range, then the "Queen of Female Singers" is Brazilian singer Georgia Brown, with an 8 octave range!!! Amaaaaaaazing !! https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ia57VfDaESw

she might be your queen of pop but music is made up of many different genres so you will get a range of answers from dolly parton to kate tempest depending on personal taste and there's the rub... music taste is subjective so like what you like but dont get cross if others dont agree

Queen is the queen of music.
Mariah? Oh please she can't walk down the steps without someone helping her.
When she gets upset on stage she makes the audience sing for her.
Over all to me after the 1990s she went down hill. She is a big time diva. How can you call someone the queen of all music. Aretha Franklin is the queen of soul and Donna Summers is the queen of disco so how could someone be the queen of all music?
Honestly, I love her music, I've been listening to her Christmas album for most of my life. It's her yearly bonus lol she has a beautiful voice and she seems nice so good for her
