It depends on just what you mean by "gift from birth" as if you are naturally talented from birth to be particularly good at certain things, I do believe there probably is a genetic component to that and even what can be referred to as learned skills that have been shown to be passed along. Though the last I believe to be more of a stretch than anything else.
