No, it's just a lame marketing gimmick meant to "How do you do, fellow kids" young consumers. They've been doing this, for forever.

The 80s/90s: "2000" (Blues Brothers 2000, Sim City 2000)
The 90s: "X / Extreme / XTreme" (The X-Games, Jason X, Extreme Ghostbusters)
The 2000s: "Ultimate" (Ultimate Marvel, Ultimate Spider-Man, the Ultimate DVD Collection)
The 2000s/2010s: Adding "My" (MySpace, My Network TV, My Portal)
The 2010s/2020s: Adding/subtracting "The" (THE Final Destination, THE Batman, THE Suicide Squad, Fast & Furious)

As someone who was born in 1968 and is, therefore, a member of Generation X, the answer is a clear yes. We're the ones trying to hold the world together while the other generations screw everything up.

It's crazy to think about this. Because I believe some people think this way unconsciously. My sister named her son Jaxson and made it a point to have it spelt with an "x"... I've seen other's do this with other names as well. Not going to lie, I kind of wish my name had an "x" in it 😂😂 plus there's an "x" in axes and those are badass sounding and badass to throw!! Ohh and exes... 100 times better that they are in your past! I think you're onto something here.
