  • Saying "keep in touch" is so lazy, and feels like a courtesy no effort goes into it. Person really wants to hang out, they'll be like "when's the next time you'll be free? We can hang out then." Or "I'll send you a text right now so we can set something up"

  • Sometimes yes , sometime no.

Some people use it as figure of speech when they part ways with from. It sounds less cold than just a"goodbye"

  • from my experience no. they say that in the form to reduce their guilt in not caring about you or it means they will keep in touch when they need you but untill then they want u to stay away

  • Sometimes, sometimes not. It is like when someone says "if you ever need help, I am here for you." Often it is just BS.

  • I basically mean it. To be honest: it could be on a ''loose'' or infrequent basis, though.

  • Really depends on the person - There is no fixed standard at play here

  • It sounds like they want to be in communication.
But practically, they don't care, otherwise, they would be in touch without quoting "stay in touch".

  • Let them keep in touch first to know they meant it and are serious about it.

  • TBH I don't even mean it sometimes, I say it to let the person know I'm still interested in speaking with them later but I usually don't lol

  • It means you’ll never hear from them again. Anytime someone said that to me it’s my experience what it meant.

  • i don't think they do– i think it's mostly to be nice. they might not mean to be rude with it, just kind of uninterested.
