Am I right to still be upset over my mother slapping me?

Anonymous
We had a huge argument where several words were exchanged. I said some things and she slapped me, saying I shouldn't talk to her in that manner ever. I went to my room and slammed the door shut so hard and threw some small books. Her being my mother is the only reason I didn't retaliate but I'm still angry.

Why is it fair for her to yell during an argument and say things but I can't? I'm still upset. My sibling (a sister) thinks I'm overracting and that if she slapped me then it was because I said hurtful thing. Still... why should I be the only one at fault and not her? She doesn't think she did anything wrong. I find that unfair.
