By the time the alarm goes off, it could already be too late.
@Jjpayne To answer your question about what parents could do as an alternative to leashes and have the same effect, my answer is: STROLLERS!
That alarm idea would never work out. Kids run away way too quickly lol. Also strollers dont always work out like the child gets to old and screams while sitting it them. Or they have multiple children like when my kids were younger I'd have to leash my oldest and push the baby in the stroller. I had a double stroller that thing was huge and wouldn't be able to take certian places so leash was the only way we could go out with both kids
But the alarm would be a fail safe as a means to look up. It's not saying it will work 100 percent but it still requires parent vision to keep an eye. But this still does leave a danger gap and apple1996 does have an interesting point too
I mean literal leashes. Sorry you had to go through that. I hadn't thought before about that being embarrassing from the point of view of the child.
Good thing you don't remember it! I'm sure it wouldn't have been the best memory. I don't consider it child abuse either.
Yeah but people are stupid so they gonna answer before looking up what it actually is
@pigoat yes exactly that's why I added the pic. I know most people here dont have kids so they've never seen this
Trick or Treat is definitely a good occasion for it! And I'm glad to hear that your kids enjoy wearing them instead of being bothered by it.

I'm not sure if you live in the United States or not, but literal leashes to walk kids around on are fairly common here!
No, I don't live in the US. I live in Uruguay. That's an interesting detail
It definitely could be tough to keep track of 4 or more kids!
It is smart to use one while around bodies of water.
Or on a busy street.
You're right that it makes sense for elderly or disabled people. But I've seen many able-bodied adults doing this also!
I find it weird too
It is disrespectful for a child to keep running off!
Yes, that's a definite possibility!
Lol, kids definitely do that!
I think so too!
Yes that is quite controlling!
