What do you do when someone insults your family?

Last time that happened was in high school. A friend of a friend called my sister fat and I broke his nose lol. I'm very protective of my family and the women in my life. I haven't had to face this issue in my adult life though.

Happens to me all the damn time. My family is a lost cause, honestly, but thats nobody else's business. I just tell people to stfu and worry about their own family, because usually the people who are bitching about mine, have the same exact dynamic.

I confront them infront of their family in a public place and ask them to explain themselves. Public humiliation is far more effective than violence
