Letting me feel like I am a bad person and spreading rumors about me.

1. Is it wrong to love a person so much that you fight for him a lot?
2. Is it bad if you stand for yourself and leave if your family has been controlling and abusing you physically and mentally? You want to save yourself.

No. Neither makes you a bad person.

Even if the person you stood up for is completely in the wrong, love makes you loyal to them. You would defend them or find any thing in a scenario that could help you make them not look as bad, because you believe in them. Love makes us irrational and non logical.

You are never wrong to stand up for yourself either. Sometimes family and friends expect different things out of you than what we are. Leaving a bad situation with family us often better than fighting with them.
