Is it normal to have conflicting emotions about your friends?

TylerKuykendall
I consider my outlook on humanity very 'love-and-hate', and my friends aren't immune to that. I enjoy them, but I also get easily irritated by their negative traits (not as in pet peeves, but things like bigotry, greed and disrespect of other people).

You might say that I need new friends, but I've honestly adopted the mindset over the years that most of everyone (if not everyone) sucks in their own way. I have very little self-esteem, want to be as good a person as I can be, and look for the good in everyone and treat them as my brothers and sisters no matter what they do or have done... But I do feel resentment toward their shitty behaviors.

Is it normal to have such conflicting emotions, or am I just a crap friend?
