Why do narcissistic friends try to hurt your self esteem if they don’t feel threatened by you? How do I truly get rid of her?

I was in a narcissistic friendship and didn’t realize it till years later till I had enough proof that she tries to indirectly make me feel bad about myself. She doesn’t seem threatened by me but she also wants to keep me insecure. I find that so odd. What is the reason behind this? And how do I get rid of her? She’s going to say she technically hasn’t done anything wrong.
