Is it also just as bad when a parent's child is the criminal?

Anonymous
We often hear about a parent's child being the victim of a terrible crime. Obviously the family wants to get revenge on the criminal. It's a parent's worst nightmare; that their child got hurt badly or is killed. How about the other side of the tale like my neighbor?

She's been on her depressive pills for a couple years now, sometimes has insomnia and seems to be aging a bit quicker. in 2016 under a plea deal, her oldest child (now 28 years old) has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for raping two 18 year-old college girls and robbery and drugs. It would've been more time. He admitted one of the girl's rape to his mother and she turned him in herself.

Is it also just as bad being in that lady's shoes?
