Why do you think it's better to raise pets than having kids of your own?

I have a kid (toddler) and a dog. The dog is way more annoying, hard work and make me way more frustrated and way less flexible than my kid. The dog barks all the time (no amount of training has helped), pee and poop inside quiet often (no amount of training has helped), lick other dogs pee outside any chance he gets (and they’re fast) and then spend the night pacing around my bedroom vomiting everywhere, need to go out for walks 3-4 times a day no matter if it’s pouring down rain outside or there’s a snow storm, need to go outside and pee late at night and early in the morning, you can’t bring the dog basically anywhere and they aren’t allowed to be left alone for more than 4-5 hours a day, doggy daycare is so expensive (way more expensive than daycare for kids where I live) and the opening hours don’t even fit most jobs anyway, pet insurance and potential vet visits can make you go broke. Like seriously, as much as I love my dog and wouldn’t want to be without him he is 100% more annoying and draining than my toddler has ever been. When the dog is at a relatives place it feels like a vacation to me. But yeah. There are other pets of course. I’ve had a few other types of pets before and I’d say hamsters were pretty easy.

Both are incredibly cute to me however...

Pets dont ruin my body

Pets dont require maternity leave

Pets dont require nearly as much money

Pets dont inconvenience me as kids would

AgreedOnly drawback is they only live 10-20 years
