What was the one moment, aside from a funeral, where you realized a loved one was actually gone (dead)?

A good friend of the family passed due to Kidney failure, something he'd struggled with his whole life. It was one of those situations where you were glad they didn't have to suffer any more because it had truly been a lifelong battle for him. I remember about 2 weeks after the funeral, I was inviting people to an event and I scrolled through my contacts list and his name was still there. It was so surreal. I realized I couldn't call or text him anymore. It really made me sad.
