How To Guide; Beachy Waves

Beachy waves are universally accepted and loved. They're neutral yet fun, casual yet have a great potential of being chic.

Beachy waves aren't something just anyone can keep up - myself included. My hair is very heavy and won't hold a curl to save my life, but there are certain tricks you can do that'll help you with this if you're having the same hair problems...

IF you first want to make a beach salt-water hair spray do this:

IF you feel you need more hold, add more sea salt...but remember - salt WILL dry out your hair (hence the extra hold)...

**Remember: this is a one-time spray, don't use this the next day or if the coconut oil hardens...

When making beachy waves you can go in different directions and those include:

1. Braid it!

Braid your damp hair into one, two or three braids - depending on your hair length and your hair thickness. Sleep with those on and unbraid them in the morning. Add hairspray and you're good to go!

2. Bun it up!

Twist your damp hair into multiple (4-8) little buns on your scalp and sleep with them overnight. Once you wake up you have an awesome beachy wave + amazing volume! This is definitely my favorite method since it's the one that makes your hair supple yet wavy/curly as hell! Of course, add hairspray on every curl just to be sure.

3. Heat it up!

Curling iron OR straghtening iron... Unlike the first two, yeah, this is the damaging method, for sure. No real science to it, just curl it with one of those contraptions and you have beachy waves. The little trick at the end would be spray each curl individually right after curling and pin it against your head until it cools off.
