How do I get my hair to be thick again?

my hair is long and wavy it has been thick all my life but for some reason I don't know why or what it is but it's been thinning and I feel like I'm going to be bald soon. I've always had a full head of hair too and don't really put heat on it and have put barely any products on it. The products are suppose to be healthy but what do I do?

  • Visit a hair specialist, if your hair is healthy and there is no underlying disease or genetic problem, trimming 1 to 3 inches off every 3 to 6 months depending on how fast your hair grows will cure split ends and help to thicken your hair.

  • Drink more water (stay hydrated) and try to massage your scalp. Basically, stay healthy.

    • Nah that was definitely a good one.

    • well I don't agree, you should just feed your stomach twinkies instead of telling others what to do

  • Do you massage your scalp at all or use any natural oils? And do you color or perm/relax your hair?

    • Nope

    • Try massaging your scalp with warm oils , I like coconut oil the most. There's also treatments in a lot of beauty stores meant to thicken hair , but many just make it greasy lol. I'd definitely reccomend going to a doctor though and maybe see if you can find out WHY exactly your hair is thinning. Pre natal vitamins are great for getting extra nutrients for your hair also , and many are known to help with skin and hair health

    • Okay thanks if I get a trim and it doesn't work out then I'll see a dr and I've tried coconut oil actually and it felt oily for my hair too and yes you're right! Lol a lot of the beauty products and treatments make it worse and greasy or dry I feel like

  • well you can make it look "thick" you fluff up your hair then use hair spray
