Make up recommendations for beginners?

I've only recently used abit of make up (foundation, concealer)..
But I want to start using eyeshadow, mascara, etc
Not too overboard though
Any make up recommendations for beginners?

etc
Drugstore products please..

  • Okay every makeup product works differently on different people. You may not need all these products but I'll give one or two of each so you choose, but my recommendation:
Primer: NYX angel veil, or L'Oréal baby skin
    Foundation: maybelline fit me
Concealer: catrice camouflage (high coverage), maybelline fit me (medium coverage)
Setting powder: coty airspun, maybelline fit me or l'oreal
Eyeshadow: honestly any palette as long as it has a matte light brownish tone, a matte light highlight, and a darker brown/grey/black
    Mascara: L'Oréal, physicians formula
Eyeliner: NYX the double ended one
    Bronzer: milani XL bronzer
Blush: wet n wild ones are great, or essence
Highlight: makeup revolution triple baked highlight
Lipstick: essence has some good ones and veeery inexpensive, wet n wild catsuit and NYX lip cream (matte liquid lipstick), and maybelline has great ones too
Setting spray: only necessary during the summer, and NYX has a good one
    Well, hope this helps!

  • Do you prefer warm or cool tones? Mascara the lash sensational by Maybelline for the lower lash the skinny mascara by nyx. Face primer or eye primer? What's your concern? Pores, fine lines, control the oils, give the jlo glow? I can recommend you but first need to know what type of finishes you like, if you're into warm or cool tones

  • Shannxo on YouTube, she has a load of beginners make up tutorials along with brushes etc.

The only really good advice I can give is use good brushes, I used to use Real Techniques when I first started. A lot of the time I do my make up and no one notices I am even wearing any, I would suggest going to neutral until you get more advanced 👌

  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation for combination/oily skin is fine. I also use the regular one and it gives me a dewy look.

I like to keep my makeup simple. I use foundation because my skin is uneven, otherwise I would just wear eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. I'm not much help with getting dolled up. If I put on eyeshadow, it somehow doesn't look like shit, but I don't exactly know what I'm doing.

  • NYX has really good eyeshadow palletes and for super cheap. Mascara is a hit or miss with each brand. But maybeline or revlon usually has good ones. Primer is soo hard to find drug store. I'd look in NYX and if not find a cheap luxury brand one like the Benefit porefessional. however this is just my opinion. good luck!

  • I've never owned a foundation of any kind, only one or two concealers. One proper powder. I like to do my eyes and lips and leave the rest because I still can't figure my skin out. If I may suggest, if you can find essence's products, try the eyeshadows and primers. I've sworn by them for a good few months by now - they stay put and are cheaper than anything you could find! Liners are a bit fidgety to use, but you'll get by, and the mascaras are decent. Also, the lip products I've tried have been quite good and have provided what they promised. Essence. Real good.

  • Start with nudes for eyeshadow. There's so many palettes that are perfect for beginners. Mascara, the best advice is when you're applying it look up and away. Product doesn't matter. I get my makeup at the dollar store and it looks just as good as sephora. Invest in some makeup wipes. You'll make a lot of mistakes when you're starting out and just like anything else, PRACTICE! There's a lot of tutorials on youtube for practically every part of makeup. And remember don't cake your face. And don't let people tell you don't wear it. If you like it and it makes you feel good wear it and rock it!

  • Covergirl mascara and cover up. Neutrogena has GREAT foundation for all types. You might like the powder products for oily skin. I prefer the liquid. NYC has cheap and nice colors for eyeshadow and i believe it comes in kits with colors that match and how to apply for different looks as well as different eye colors. If you have green eyes like me, go with LIGHT pearly purple colors. It sounds extreme but it makes your green eyes pop and I always get the best compliments on my eyes when I do that. ANd make sure you get a whitish eye shadow too for the corners of your eyes and just below your brow but that also usually comes in with the kit. I would start off with pencil eyeliner because liquid is hard to use and tends to slide off. OH an EYE CURLER. Super helpful to make your eyes look big and your lashes longer.
