I'm a crow when it comes to shopping, so the most important criteria is whether it catches my eye. That's a combination between Design and Material. The second-most important criteria is Practicality/Usefulness (i. e., how likely am I to wear this article of clothing in my day-to-day life?).
If I had to rank all of those, it'd be something like:
1. Design & Material.
3. Fit (I have a hard time find clothes that fit me properly, so I've resigned myself to finding the best "possible" fit versus the "ideal" one).
5. Brand (this one actually isn't relevant at all).2

I'd say brand but also "Other". I really like lululemon men's pants but I tend to pair them with those $5 Hanes teeshirts (that are like disposable pretty much).
I think that guys going overboard on brand name clothing look stupid tbh0
