  • Although most straight red-blooded males such as myself don't care either way because we like it, let me give you insight as to why they are.

What amazes me as a guy, is how a girl doesn't want you to catch them in their underwear; yet are perfectly fine with being seen in a bikini. What's the difference? One is waterproof and the other technically isn't. They are one and the same and you see the same. So the one thing to take from it, is don't be hypocritical. If you think that guys shouldn't see you in your underwear, you shouldn't have any business wearing a bikini. Otherwise, yes they are too revealing because they show just as much as underwear.

Bottom line is: don't blame a guy for checking you out and calling him a pig when you're showing 80% of your body.

  • They're ridiculously revealing. Fine, wear it at a beach to get a tan or be in the water but girls these days take picture of themselves half naked in a bikini and then post it all over the internet. Girls make arguments for the sexually appealing bikinis as a clothing to be worn at the beach and say their nakedness is appropriate for that yet many of you aren't just wearing it for the beach anymore.

    • I totally agree. Some just wear bikinis and lie on their beds or couches and take pictures of their bodies, without their faces even. Oh please! Too much narcissism.

    • @StarsInTheEyes Hilarious isn't it? They pose in their bikinis for the purpose of posting it online. Not even on the beach lol.

    • @InTimoreDei Yes I know... 🙄

  • The whole idea of bikinis is for women to reveal themselves sexually to entice men. I would never wear them, and it's obviously revealing, you might as well be naked. When I first started working at an amusement park, girls would be walking in half way naked with everybody around and we would have to call security because of you either cover up or don't show up! And before anybody say why would they show up like that to an amusement park, the beach is directly LINKED to the park along with the boardwalk.

  • It is actually too revealing , for me I never wear it except in front my best friends which are girls. Because basically your whole body is showing and the shape of your private parts is very clear. Also because I'm very shy girl.

  • It is something that you can't wear to the grocery store and its only worn for specific occasions. Its very revealing. Its like wearing fancy panties and bra but us men do enjoy looking at them and taking them off of women.

  • Yes, but that doesn't mean that they are unacceptable.
However I think they are not appropriate for places apart from the beach.
Wearing revealing clothes also have decency.

    • Must have*

  • Some are, but those are not the ones I wear, I like a little more coverage than most a generous cut cheeky panty would be the most of my bum I'd show. The two piece suits that I own most of them either have a Boyshort or a bikini cut panty, I do own one pair that are Cheekies but they cover a lot more cheek than most. As far as bikini bras go mine cover me up there without gaposis! I'm a small B to large A cup so I have to watch how much they gap in the important places!!

Although even the most coverage doesn't gaurantee that there will be no wardrobe malfunction! When we were honeymooning in Hawaii we were body surfing. My Boyshorts took on a bit too much surf in the back and I ended up mooning my husband, he loved it and thought it was funny. Me on the other hand was absolutely mortified as the beach was pretty full!

  • They're too revealing for me to feel comfortable wearing, but I see no problem with other women wearing them if that's what they like.

  • Of course not, they’re designed for swimming and tanning, Iv worn them since I was 10 and they’re a must have for holidays.

  • They can be revealing, sure, but there are many styles of them that are pretty cute.

  • Not at all at the beach/pool/camping. I understand not wearing them around town, but I have been guilty of wearing my bikini top with a pair of shorts if I needed to make a quick stop somewhere.

    • So question. Camping as in like a campground? Is it appropriate to basically wear it anytime?

    • @alwaysalyssa Yes, campground include. I would say its not appropriate to wear anytime, just as its not appropriate for a guy to walk around everywhere without a shirt. But for the places I already listed, I would say go for it!

    • @aluora my parents are huge campers so I pretty much live there in the Summer. Wearing a swimsuit around typically isn’t what I normally do, like outside of swimming or laying but I did often this summer and honestly loved it. What would you consider appropriate for the camping and or anywhere else?

  • @sarah175 you wear that all the time , share your answer separate.
As for me I don't see any problem in bikini as long as it's in the appropriate places such as swimming or maybe camping or even in hot areas. But moving in the street in bikini is way too much inappropriate.

    • In my opinion it is not wrong to move with bikini in street as no people cares you so why one should thinks about them.

  • Bikinis are not too revealing. They are worn because they are comfy, just like yoga pants.

  • Nope not one bit. I believe that they should be optional.

In America the human body is too sexualized. Yes women have boobs and they are great but due to the sexualization of the body part its not acceptable for women to be topless or dress revealing with out being getting negarivity thrown at them.

You go to any country and you will see nude beaches and much more respect for a person's body and choice of attire.

  • Who's to say. Personally, I think speedos are even more revealing.

  • Not at all!

As long as you don't look gross in one, wear it!

Gross = fat rolls, pubic hair sticking out the bottoms, etc

    • Like lingerie, a bikini hides very little, but a scantily clad woman is WAY more sexy than a naked woman! To me, a bikini allows me to show off how've look and looking good boosts my self esteem TBH men can see what they want in a woman when we are wearing very little Our breasts are on display Our butts are not hidden We show off our sexy shape And our pubic area is there to see in all its glory. A lot of men like certain types iof breast shapes, certain butt shapes, and get very aroused over being able to see if a girl had a big pussy mound and full puffy lips. Also a lot of bikinis are so thin, guys can see if you have a lot of pubic hair as well As a girl, it is hard to tell if a guy has a decent or nice penis coz guys don't wear revealing clothes I know a lot of girls like me that would love to judge a guy by seeing a nice "bulge" in a skimpy pair of shorts, the perfect chest and rear, all by just looking

  • Not really. They cover boobs and vagina as is their goal. Sure you can wear a one piece if you want but nobody is required to

  • Not at all. They’re mostly to look hot, and they do that to some extent. For the most part, they make a woman look more attractive. It’s no different than a man walking around without a shirt

  • No i dont think so, maybe if ur walking around the street but not when hr swimming/ sunbathing its not like ur gonna get a tan covered up

  • To post pictures with them on, yes. To wear them in the swimming pool or on the beach, no unless they are strings

  • Yes, that's why I love them so much.

  • Some are. But in general, most bikinis are not too revealing. There are plenty of bikinis that completely cover the private parts but leave the midsection and the rest of the skin showing. There are definitely many one-pieces that go out of their way to show as much back, ass cheek, side boob and boobage as possible.

  • They certainly can be but by and large, no. Not neccesarily.

  • Of course they are, that’s the point.
