Is this dress appropriate for a wedding or is it too casual?

Rule of thumb: Out of respect, its the BRIDE'S day...
no female should try to outshine the Bride at a wedding.

Also, always could not understand the Bridal dress.
Many end up looking like a frothy doily!
Perhaps its just a male perspective BUT if I WERE THE BRIDE...
I'd dress so EVERY male in that service would be trying to hide their 'wood'. And the Groom would be gobsmacked how LUCKY he was, ... as she sashayed down that aisle!
Forget the 'Polyanna' romanticism!
Marriage is ALL about a societal contract between two people for assured REPRODUCTIVE exclusivity. "... and forsaking ALL others"

As the Bride,
I WANT to rub in the assembled's faces
WHAT a catch they passed up.
Example to Those younger and vengeance upon the older Matrons fearing infidelity. "Up YOUR game", ladies!

there's an underlying reason that in some post wedding receptions the assembled males PAY $$$ to dance with the Groom's woman! ... Figuratively, "last call"

I'd reckon that it's somewhere in between.

I haven't been to a lot of weddings but I would believe more white clothing or clothing of one colour is more appropriate for the occasion. An exception would be if everyone ignored those common wedding rules and picked something a bit more wild with a lot of patterns and colours.

It's really beautiful but is not appropriate for a wedding. You are better off going quick shopping and find something more appropriate to wear. But you better do it fast and ask somebody to help you. Just know as a person who attended weddings that is not appropriate for a wedding. If everybody else is not wearing something like that, that's when you're going to stand out and it's going to embarrass the couple. People going to think you're in the wrong place. Not that you're trying to whatever. Just understand that again it's a wonderful dress it looks good on you. But you are better off finding something else.

It looks nice, not too inappropriate for a wedding.. besides, I would cover the bare shoulders and back with something in the church. I am actually not religious myself but it is a holy space and it is so easy to just through a thin scarf or cardigan on
