Best mascara and powder? Lancome dior or fenty which one better for powder and mascara?

I am not a girl, nor do I know the ways of makeup since I have never bought it, but for mascara, my sister buys Maybelline Great Lash Mascara as well as one in a thin black pointy container with white letters (I don't remember its name and couldn't find it), I don't know about powders, I don't even know what those are lol.
