Because you usually only see your face in a mirror. So you are more accustomed to that look. It is in fact in reverse of what you look like to the rest of the world. Your photo shows how you really look but you are not used to it so you perceive it as not as good as in the mirror. Likely both are the same.
Mirrors reflect the image, and seem 3D whereas a picture doesn't have that same effect. So it might be a combination of those. Also, the lens and stuff on a camera can really change what the image looks like but they can't all look the same as real life.
Did you also know that we think we are 5 times more attractive than we actually are? 😅 Going back to your question. There should be something about the cameras. There's a thing about being photogenic or not. Even the objects look different in pictures sometimes.
We are used to seeing ourselves in a mirror which flip the image, pictures on the other hand don't flip the image, showing us how we really look, and that may be radically different than how we see ourselves in the mirror
