i was already wondering what's going on xD "someone" has to have a tattoo considering how few people you see outside without any. to each their own i say.for me the physical act of being tatooed is not a problem. but having to stick with that decision basically forever... that's what i have a big issue with. my opinions of shit change as i grow and i don't wanna be reminded of my dumb decisions from 10 years ago. and not only that. i mean just look how cool those arse antlers were and how scoffed at they are now. also it's a bit pricy for my taste. not that i can't afford it. i just don't see a particularly good cost/benefit situation for myself.
Well, how we see money changes as we age. At 18 and 19, having more than 100,000 I wasn't thinking about buying a house, though I should have at the time lol. If I had that now, I'd be all squirrely and buying up property instead of buying silly shit left and right.
xD yeah in this day and age, you won't get a "house" for 100.000 :D a dirt-shack somewhere in the slums at best maybe. but yeah. i feel like with property you're on the right track, unlike those idiots buying gold :D
Yeah, they buy it, but the only value is in micro-electronics, or other people who want gold. Don't knock on houses in the slums either. You have the house you live in, and the houses you rent. Get those fuckers to a critical mass where rentals can buy more rentals. I squandered some golden opportunities to set myself up for retirement very very young. At least I kept enough to have a good start at being an adult though *shrug*
i'm not knocking on them. i currently working on a project with my parents, where they bought a over 200 year old house and are now overhaoling it. they got away with 40k buy price with 1500 m² property including the house (cause we negotiated to a price where we'd have to pay for demolition to use the property).so now including countless hours of our families hard work, we probably actually end up in the 100.000 -150.000 range. but buying a house that size with a property that size wouldn't be possible below 500.000 in this day and age. plus you don't even get the longevity in building materials that you get with a well kept ancient house.with property, you basically can't go wrong. but with houses there's still quite big risks and lots of pitfalls. you gotta put i many hours yourself to make sure that you're not getting fucked over even in new construction.
I like the houses because of stories like yours, the property comes with it, and the only real danger if you have rentals is if you buy something in an HOA. Don't do that and simply time and not much effort will turn a profit.
yeah but make no mistake. even with this project of my parents, we had multiple different ingineers and specialists on archaic building techniques involved to validate that this is even a "possibility". plus my entire family is very handy/crafty and we do have experience with this kind of stuff as a family. that's normally shit you'd have to pay an arm and a leg for in the industry, if you don't have that in the family.and i feel like they actually got lucky. cause you can end up with big issues that make such investments a total loss. very easily. there's still lots of risk involved. so i'd personally just go for bare property. just empty land. maybe woodland. that is probably more safe.
That's what fire insurance is for. What are these "demo" costs you speak of, I hear insurance payout to wind up with an empty foundation...
insurances are a hoax. if you actually calculate the cost of an ensurance over time against the actual risk of shit happening to you, an ensurance is not worth it. that's exactly why insurances can survive. cause they make more money than they spend. simplest kindergarden logic but nobody seems to see that :Dplus: you can rest asure, that in case shit does happen to you, the insurance will do everything that is humanly possible to them to get out of their obligation to pay your damage. they'll even pay goons and private investigators to find "some" tiny little fact in your particular damage case that gives them legal grounds not to give you any of the money that you gave them for that exact eventuality.
I know, I was a PI for a bit, though on the personal injury/drop service of subpoena variety.
i see it a bit different with that actually. if you have a system like we have in germany, where health insurance is "obligatory", youA: avoid ethical dilemmas for doctors that can't treat people who don't pay and B: create a strong acteur in the economy that is powerful enough to force the health industry to limit their usury prices, cause they gotta compete for supporting insurances cause otherwise the health care provider will not have customers.that's why actual health care is ridiculously cheap and still qualitatively good here compared to the US.
that immediately reminds me of people who have tattoos of their ex girlfriend or ex wife xD my sisters husband actually had that shit on her body and it was actually her, who wound up paying for a tattoo to cover that up. xD
I'd say a girl can't accuse you of being afraid of commitment if you get their name tattooed somewhere but marriage is a commitment too. Plus one can always remove a tiny name on one's finger. Painful yes but if it turned that sour the memory would be more painful. Kids would probably get a bigger tattoo with their face and name. I just don't get people who get tattoos just for decoration without any particular meaning or people who cover every inch of flesh. That last one would make it impossible to figure out which ones meant something.
i can definitely understand people who have a tattoo that reminds them of their family, children, pets or live changing decisions they made. i don't understand people running around with tribals and random Asian letters or comic book characters tattooed on their body.
I worked with a girl who had 90% of her body and half her face covered in tats and it looked horrible. Half of them looked like cheap prison tats. She was actually convinced they made her look prettier. The tribal ones sure maybe if you are actually a member of that tribe and can tell us what the meaning behind them are but most are not and can not. I saw one idiot on the beach a couple of years ago wearing a speedo and HE had tattooed fishnets and a garter belt and an obscene little saying I'm not going to repeat here. I don't know what that was about. When I worked in a restaurant as a manager we had one guy apply for a job with obscene words tattooed across his face and expected to be hired as a cashier. I'm all about giving ex felons a chance but not to the point where their face is going to scare off our customers.
the tribal ones can defintitely look cool but they have no meaning (to those that aren't part of said "tribes"), so i find that quite dumb.my sister actually has a tattoo: "live goes on". like wtf. that's so insanely stupid considering she's a little princess that grew up having anything she needs from good and loving parents, an intact family, good shool education and not lack of any physical or emotional goods... i mean wouldn't "live goes on" mean that you had a sort of difficult and troubled past?
Or didn't understand English grammar.
would tatoos on someone else turn you off/deter you? i mean not with friends but sexual/romantic partners.
I'm not attracted to tattoos.
i see. same as me then :D
i think people like that are becoming more rare by the day.
you hate to see it XD does it at least have the meaning he was hoping for or did the artist fool him and put "dunce" in mandarin on his body, telling him it means "courage" or something? :D
It’s a funny story actually. He was going for something like a conscience. Good on one shoulder evil on the other. Well, unfortunately, evil was cheaper so he got that. Then the shop went out of business. So he’s stuck with evil in mandarin tattooed on his right shoulder for 22 years and counting. LolHe told his mother it means “kind person.” That killed me. 🤣
wtf xD it's not like that was the only tattoo shop on the planet. why would you keep running around with that shit for so long?
He has yet to find another one that does that does that particular mandarin dialect. 🤣
wtf xD normally you should be able to just show the artist a picture of what you want and they should be able to do it.
I don’t know. I used to push for it. Now I just accept it. It used to be black now it’s like faded ugly blue/green. 🤣
guess he's just bad then and you're stuck with that xD
When he told me he had evil tattooed on his shoulder I nearly broke up with him. Lol. Good save with the explanation.

what design if i may ask?
it's just a braid around my upper arm
i agree. but don't tell any of those snowflakes. they'll get all butthurt on you xD
it's funny that this seems to be the prevailing answer here, yet in reality, you see hardly any people without tattoos.
@genericname85 proving that many live double lives: their real life and their internet life.
same :D team clea skin right here.
Yeah I’m a blank slate
