No it actually looks like it’s a way to disrespect the culture. I know women being modest is highly valued in their culture so it just seems disrespectful to go against a cultures values

Its there dress since lots of centuries.
And there ladies show skin a lot

I am sorry if it comes off as disrespecting. But since India is a warm country (as per google) I don't think women there could be covered in layers of cloths. It would get too messy inside.

@Asker Underneath the blistering heat you wouldn't want to have everything uncovered. That is just asking for heatstroke. Being uncovered doesn't automatically mean being cooler. In places with hot deserts, for example, people cover the skin for protection from the sun. It's biased modern thinking to say that you have to be uncovered to be cool. For hundreds of generations people wore modest clothing despite the heat. Why? They had materials like Linen to keep cool. Linen is very nice and cooling for hotter weather. No nakedness required.

Anyway, well-made Saris are made of nice thin material that keeps the person cool even though it's hot outside.
