Update: lending support to my theory that guys like whale tails, check out this video. Seton Hall center Gene Teague gets undercut on a dunk attempt, and lands hard on his head. He was unconscious and had a seizure, and was hospitalized. His teammates are visibly concerned and shaken up.
STILL...at about 1:25 in the video, a couple of his teammates look to be smirking about something, presumably the cute blonde helping the paramedics that's flashing her thong when she squats down. I'm telling you, we're animals, haha.
I'd probably make some assumptions about a girl who did it on purpose, but I don't know a red-blooded male who doesn't enjoy an inadvertant whale tail. We used to have a code word for it at my old job in college: flux capacitor, like from Back To The Future link because it looks like a g-string. We'd be like "yo, flux capacitor at table 23", haha

It's pretty trashy looking. If you wear it at home around your man, then that's fine and sexy, but if your boyfriend asks you to dress like that in public I would question the level of respect he has for you. I don't know too many men who want the women they care about to be seen that way by others in public.

i think it's trashy when girls have their thongs hanging out. it looks trashy when any bras and underwear are hanging out in the first place, but thongs are worse. it just looks so bad.
It's not in style to purposely show it like it used to be, but if it shows by accident I don't see how it's a big deal.
Trashy. Underwear is a clothing that's supposed to be hidden when you're in most public places. You wear it 'under' other clothes.

Trashy(when it is on purpose), most people I know wear a thong so their underwear don't show...that defeats the purpose.
Now just like any underwear if you bend over and you are wearing low cut jeans and it "peeks" out then that's no problem. Better that than crack.
