Is it a turn off that I'm NOT always shy?

Anonymous
I get shy sometimes, and deep down I really am shy - but unlike a lot of shy people, I instead force myself out of the bubble, it's been how I have always coped with it. I come across bubbly and chatty, which has never been a problem for me before. I am also not afraid to approach a guy or flirt with him if I like him.

But recently, I was flirting with a guy and one of my friends pulled me aside and said: Don't be too forward, I don't think ___ likes really dominant girls.

I'm not dominant at all, but according to my friend, being open and not shy around a guy is apparently "intimidating" because it's less feminine.

Is it a turn off that I'm not just shy and passive all of the time or what?
