It's not infront of the person you're dating. I mean when the person isn't there and it just innocent? Also the relationship is not "exclusive " It's in the beginning of a relationship.
If it's not in front of the guy and you don't have a committed relationship, they you are free to pursue other guys. But don't kid yourself and say that it is "innocent." Flirting is designed to let someone else know that you are interested in them and to determine whether they are interested in you. You wouldn't flirt with your brother, right? Or with some old guy, right?
I would defiantly flirt with and old guy.My brother never, and by innocent I mean not in a sexual way flirting, not like "I want you in bed" type of flirting. there is such thing as innocent flirting. Maybe you just don't know.
It just depends on your definition of "innocent." To you, innocent flirting means something that isn't intended to get somebody in bed now. To me, all flirting ultimately has the goal of leading to a relationship which will include sex, so it's not innocent. You don't flirt to develop a platonic friend, right? If you're straight, you don't flirt with members of the same sex, right?
