Have you ever flirted with someone at the gym?

As the saying goes "shut up & lift" I've been a gym goer for many years now. And I heard countless times that girls hate their personal bubble being fucked with by guys... lol

I have actually flirted with girls in the past but I typically keep my distance and do what I gotta do and get out. Then you have the occasional creepers that try to inch their way closer to the baddest females in the place when they REALLY don't care about what guy is checking her out... unless it's like Chris Hemsworth or some shit.

Needless to say, I noticed that it's typically a good sign a girl likes you or thinks a guy in the gym is cute if she keeps looking at him, but that might just be an overlooked theory of mine. What are your thoughts?

No offense, but I would hate being approached at the gym. After I get changed and step through the door, I pop my headphones in and don't even notice what's going on around me. I DO NOT want people approaching me. Why you ask?

1) This is literally my UGLIEST time: I'm tired, I'm sweaty, I'm flushed, I'm out of breath, I probably don't smell my best, my hair is a mess.. the list goes on and on.

2) I really don't want to waste my time talking to someone. If you approach me, I would have stop whatever I'm doing currently to have a 15-30 minute chat with you.. ultimately eating up my time there. This is worse if I'm on a tight schedule that day or something.

3) Someone else mentioned this, but I don't want you sitting/standing there just watching me work out from afar... It's creepy, annoying and makes me uncomfortable. Self-conscious even. Also, stop trying to engage in conversation with me. This is obvious when the guy is not talking to anyone else there.. but, have these side conversations with me. "Are you done with the machine?" "Do you want a workout partner?" "You know.. you're not using that machine correctly"... So annoying.

The gym is were I go to have my "me time" and focus on MY muscles and not care about my surrounding! (kay, that's bull... I'll notice the opposite sex's glistening muscles - if one is noteworthy, I'll notice lol) But to comment on what you've said, yeah, I don't wish for my personal bubble to be entered by a guy who so happens to have to do the same routine as me and persistently ask if I'm done with a certain machine... like use YOUR EYES... if I'm not on it, it's yours to use and while you're using your eyes scan the situation and see that I'm highly uncomfortable by your "oh so subtle moves"

1. I didn’t head to the gym to have my “me time” interrupted

2. having some perv not so subtly position himself within view of me or any lady is actually the most infuriating thing

If the opposite sex cares to make a gesture, be GENTLEMAN. Eg. there was once a guy who offered to help adjust a stubborn bench seat... nothing happened after accept us smiling at each other but the fact that I can remember this from 2 years ago accounts for something.

Typically, I don't like having long conversations interrupting me but I wouldn't mine a man that I'm interested initiating conversation.

Definitely have the lurkers and men that follow me around the gym or try to impress me but they never say a word.

I have a nice following of girls crushing on me. The count grows daily. Whats weird is they have like a schedule so one day one girl shows up and another shows up the next. When they overlap they usually fight over me.

Does flirting with your personal trainer count? Lol. We were having way too much fun while working out that it became a distraction to both of us that we became close friends. He referred me to one of his other Army buddies before it got out of hand. But otherwise... I'm there to workout, don't care if the guy is checking me out or not, he's going to catch the bitch side of me if he interrupts. If he catches me as I'm leaving, he's have a better chance of surviving 😂

On your theory. Yes it's a good sign, but I'd still wait until they are done or at least rotating to a different machine.

No, i talk to guys at the gym but it's not flirting. It's just... talking... like about the upcoming fight or kids or family drama or plans, regular stuff. I honestly have not seen any flirting happening at my current gym. Looking at a guy also doesn't really... indicate anything. I look at guys when they're doing an exercise I've never done before or if they're trying to hit a PR. It's not about attraction.

But that doesn't mean I want him to approach. I'm gross, I'm sweaty, I'm in the zone.
