I'm supposed meet a girl that I barely talk to, we basically don't have anything in common. My cousin had my phone, while he had it she texted me. Nd as I joke he asked her to hang out. So she said yes now I'm supposed to meet her. Should I meet her or just 'flake'?

Just to update, this was asked earlier today before 'meeting her' I met her and I liked her too lol

I was recently in this predicament and all my friends told me to just go on the date then let em know I wasn't interested. But I really didn't want to go and wasn't interested so I just text him "sorry I can't go out with you." he was okay with it. I'd try that.

Its just one date. Just meet up with her. If you guys hardly talk to begin with how do you know you have nothing in common with her? Go on the date, be nice, ask questions and try to listen because you never know what may happen.

  Talk about what she likes to do in her free time. Tell her about yourself what you like to do. Ask her what she looks for in a guy and a relationship stuff like that. Why she is single. It won't be awkward if you just be yourself and just talk to her like you do with your friends minus the cursing ( if you do that)

  lol, I forgot what she looks like. I didn't even have her number saved in my phone. But, I'm sure she looks good/okay. If she looked bad I wouldn't have gaven her my number. And I looked at past texts, I used to talk to her. I'm just going to go and see what happens

i had this happen to me a couple years ago too. I was pretty shy back then so I made up some excuse and never went. plus I didn't think she was that pretty lol. I say just go for it and don't keep your hopes up. if she turns out to be real cool then that's awesome. if not, no one is gonna make you keep seeing her right?

I think having things in common is overrated, tbh.

If you want similar things relationship wise, are attracted to each other, and enjoy time together, who cares if you have separate hobbies?

I would say go on the date. Try to strike up a conversation with her - you never know what you may find out. If you decide to not go on the date then don't just 'flake' it off. Tell her that it was your cousin texting her. Its kind of a d*** move to stand someone up...

You should give her a chance and if things get really awkward, call upon a mutual friend and then all three of you can hang out.

If you do decide to flake though, be sure to tell her a while in advance and give her a legit reason. Don't stand her up and keep her waiting on you.

No, you should not flake. If you really just have no interest in her then call her and let her know your cousin is a douche, that he is the one who replied to her text and you are sorry for his bad joke. But call her, don't text back, and do it quickly, not like 10 minutes before you are supposed to meet.

Don't flake. she obviously thought it was you and accepted, so she must like you. not showing up would make her think less of you, and it is just plain rude. And hey, you may even end up enjoying it! Maybe you have more in common than you think, but you just don't know it yet, and maybe she could end up changing your life for the better...ya never know!

well - really well:

you could like her, and want to see her again, and have loads of things in common even if you thought otherwise.

not so great - bad:

maybe she's crackers. But you say she's not. so she's not. and if it doesn't go very well.. cut it short.

its that easy. but why not have some fun?
