It's obviously bad at first but could it be a good thing over time? Sooner or later, is hope ever completely lost?

It can definitely be a good thing over time. I don't know about this hope thing you speak of, but it was necessary for my psychological health to cut ties with certain people I was very close to. I would like to be friends with these people in the future but I don't feel I am at that point in my life.

  I have a friend who I had feelings for. Unfortunately those aren't mutual feelings. She was my best friend in high school and I didn't see any way to move on and find interest in other girls as long as I was still moping about over her. In the end I stopped talking to her. It was probably the most difficult decision I've made in the last few years.

might not feel like a good thing but sometimes it's a necessary thing :( like, if you know it wouldn't work in the long run or because the relationship is unhealthy in some way..I don't think hope is ever completely gone in every case but I guess it just depends.

  How? I stopped all forms of contact with a girl I was crazy about a couple years back. I can't help but feel given a couple maybe a few more years, maybe she'll come around! :|

im on your boat my dude, its hard real hard epically if its be a long term relationship and how you can't imagine yourself with another girl and you can't bear the thought of her with another man but you are going to have to accept it because she did. women are colder then men and men are actually more emotional.
