What is the perfect way for a guy to "pick you up"?

Forgive me if I have difficulty answering your question. I can't see the whole thing, because these GODDAMN ADS are in the way...

Anyhoo, I'll describe how I got interested in a guy I met a couple of months ago, around August or so: I really liked his personality, he seems like the type that is always in a good mood, says hi to everyone, makes a few jokes, but he's serious about his career and education. He's no Hollywood hunk, but he is quite attractive, very cute smile. He seems confident to me, although he did admit he's afraid to talk to women. I do not remember the conversation that led to me giving him my number, but I did give him my #. He sent me a text a week later, kinda threw me off a bit, but he does work two jobs with varying schedules. He did ask if I wanted to come over to his house and watch movies, and I said yes. It hasn't happened yet though, but it's no big deal to me. But we still talk via text(he doesn't have a FB or anything, he said he doesn't want one), and we did hang out a little bit at Applebee's on Sunday with mutual friends.

I'm not bothered by the fact that he doesn't call because I don't like talking on the phone anyway. But he's a busy guy, so I don't want to push or force anything. He said once that he does not get sexually involved with a girl unless she is his girlfriend, which was nice to hear. He does like to hug though. It's been about 4 months or so, had it not been for both of us having two jobs, we defintely could have been an item by now.

I like a guy who makes a brief initial contact (saying hi in a bar, sending an e-mail on a dating site, etc). We chat for about 15 minutes and then he goes his separate way. He follows up after a few days asking for a date (though dating site this part can go on for another week or so exchanging e-mails). We go on the date, talk about stuff to see if we match up well. We go on another date, once a week for a few weeks. We can talk on the phone in between dates a few nights a week, but not for hours on end. 20 minutes is plenty. Then, if we hit it off, we go on more dates. After we've been going on dates for a while, we become exclusive and are boyfriend & girlfriend.
