I don't know if this is a good way to get to know this girl....

So when I started college, they assigned me an email so that the teachers can contact me if they need to. So I was checking my email today, and I say that they actually give you the emails of people who are in your class so that you can keep contact with them. And I got the email of a girl that I kinda like from that.

I want to email her and talk to her, maybe tell her that I like her. But I don't know if she would find that creepy or if it isn't a good way, thoughts.
I don't know if this is a good way to get to know this girl....
