sistaa, I'm in your same position! he invited me to his house whenever I'm near where he lives, but I don't want to go to his house, I want to go for a drink or something. Anywaqys, I think you should first befriend him and get his number, and then ask him casually, as a friend. Just imagine, act as if he was a really cool guy that you want to go for a drink with him, but as friends.. that's whaqt I will do.. cause all the nervousness and indecision is because you like him, but would you act the same if you didnt¿? no, so just act and look at him as if you only wanted to be his friend. I would first start wanting a friendship and later something else

Make sure you ask him in private. Just work up the courage, and say something along the lines of, "Would you like to get coffee with me sometime?"
