I am afraid to initiate contact with girls, what should I do?

Girls and guys are kind of like a human and small animal thing. "They are probably more afraid of you, than you are of them" And that goes for both sexes. We are always so terrified of being judged and can't help but be self conscious. Take a deep breathe. Be calm. If you see a girl you like, make eye contact and smile. If she smiles back then its OK to approach.Say hi, and introduce yourself. Talk about a class you have together and see if she needs a study partner. Or talk about what you can't wait to do when school gets out. See if she wants to catch a movie with you that weekend.

Well if they judge you negatively without getting to know you then that's their lost. The more you go up to girls the better :) you'll get more comfortable, gain confidence, and maybe meet a special girl :) so give it a try, remember to start with a "hello" and go from there :)

It sounds stupid but the only way to get over it is to realize your problem and overcome it. I like analogies so here goes, say your scared of heights and at the pool theirs a high diving board, you avoid it but one day you decide to just go for it and jump in. You feel that rush of adrenalin and do it another 20 times, then you leave and realize you were scared of doing that. Its no longer a big deal because you learned to enjoy it and overcame that fear.

I have the same problem with guys! but honestly most girls do like it when random guys approach them, and they usually won't judge you and they will like the fact that you were confident enough to go and talk to them, and the best way to overcome this fear is probably to practice talking to a lot of different girls and see what works and what doesn't. If you appear confident even if you aren't, it makes a better impression.

Don't be afraid! Girls love it when boys approach them, instead of the other way around, because trust me, girls get just as nervous! Whatever girl you're approaching will have automatic respect for you for starting up a conversation.

The only way to overcome this is to just dive in there and do it! It doesn't have to be a lengthy conversation at all, just casual chatting will be fine. You'll soon get over your fears, don't worry.

If you have a friend that is a girl, talk to her. She might be able to introduce you to other girls and then you'll pick up on what topics to talk about and how to behave around them.
