I can't...it is kind of forbidden by the company that we work for...
As in someone I work with who I am not allowed to associate with outside of work.
You're over 21. Who dictates that sou can't associate with this person outside of work. Company policy? Family? Religious beliefs?
Ah. This is too complex an issue to adequately hash out in this venue. Whether or not such policies are enforceable, is dependent on several factors. Assuming that the company you work for is within the law enforcing such a policy, your options are to alter either the nature of your employment or the nature of your relationship.
I don't know what to do about it. I can't quit...i can look for a new job, but it might take a long time to find one. And as for our relationship...mostly, I just have a crush. We flirt occasionally, but not anything more.
Keep your job. The situation between you and your crush just can't progress. If you work for a large company with a formal HR department, talk to the HR manager in private to find out exactly what the rules are.Usually, the rule is that no personal relationship can exist between a person in a superior position (supervisor, manager, etc.) and a direct subordinate. If such a working relationship dormant exist between you & your crush, you may be in the clear.
