    • Is a hoagie roll not a type of bun? Or what about the fact that its a roll? What about hamburgers? Those are sandwiches served on buns. Pulled pork sandwiches are generally served on pub buns.

  • Depends how its served
    "Definition of sandwich

1a : two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between

b : one slice of bread covered with food

2: something resembling a sandwich; especially : composite structural material consisting of layers often of high-strength facings bonded to a low strength central core"
So when served in or between something ya

    • I don't know how you would serve it that it wouldn't meet those definitions unless you're saying just the Weiner itself but obviously nobody considers roast beef on it's own to be a sandwich.

    • With potato

    • Or something XD

  • Depends

  • Yes.
When a sausage is served on/in a bun typically with peppers and onions it's considered a sausage sandwich, so a hot dog would as well since it's just another kind of meat prepared a different way.
