Washing your meat?

I literally mean meat here. Apparently some folks have stated that they wash their meat? Before cooking it?

This is super new to me, we don't ever wash it. Do you?

  • Some cuts, yes, I do wash to remove any bits of material on it. Of course I trust my butcher but even he's not perfect and sometimes there's just impurities there. I don't, however, wash my meat to get it bacteria free or anything. That's what my stove is there for.

  • Gross. Sorry I had a splurge day after weight lifting and needed protein so I made steaks. You don’t wash the juices off.

Ultimately if o for some reason felt the meat needed washing it is meat I shouldn’t be eating.

  • Depends on the meat. I always wash out a chicken before cooking and inspect it to see if it cleaned well enough to suit me. Cured meat from the smoke house gets rinsed off also.

  • I do if it's chicken, or maybe it's been in the fridge a few days.

  • We wash it. Especially if it's fresh meat and not the frozen one

  • Yeah, with water, around 2 or 3 times and I ad lime or vinegar to disinfect it.
