  • The colour is off putting, the cilantro should be chopped, the tomatoes pieces are too large, the steak looks under seasoned, and it looks like you had an epileptic fit putting the filling into the tortillas

    • Chili powder doesn’t go good with this steak. This is good meat, just cut very thin. I think chili powder is more for ground beef.

    • i make a steak seasoning with black pepper, salt, cumin, chili powder, paprika, and garlic powder.

      if you have time when doing it season the steak with the salt early in the day and the salt gets absorbed by the meat. gives a really good and balanced taste of salt throughout the meat. also means you can use less salt than normal

  • Personally, the pico is way too chunky. Dice the tomatoes more. Also try to make crema which is basically just sour creme with cilantro and lime juice. Also maybe put some queso frecsa on top. Meat looks good

    • It was a little. It’s very thin meat. I went for rare but got medium rare. I consider it a success

    • Well if you've never done this before then you did well.
      The trick with meat is to brinde it beforehand, or to sizzle it in a really hot pan - even without oil - on one side and then on the other - thickness of the meat makes it dependent on how long you're going to let it sit in the pan.
