Traditional meals for such groups include many veggies, fruits and etc. is this why they appear smarter than the average American child who eats junk food way more often? Many top schools have rich white kids who grew up with many advantages, while most of the poor appear to be from immigeant families. Even with all their disadvantages, does cutting out sugar and eating say, more dark leafy greens than pizza lead to better grades? Just curious, because the narrative now is about how certain races are naturally “smarter” or less smart when I’m seeing other factors be at play

No it's not because of that. It's because the culture is different. A lot of immigrants are raised in a family where they will be socially shamed by their peers or family if they don't do good. This makes them try harder and work more. That and they see their parents do the same thing. This leads to them becoming more smarter and doing better. This in turn mean that they are more likely to make better choices in other areas such as their diet.
America is different in that way since they are told that to be successful you need to be rich and famous. So emphasis isn't put on doing good in school. They are taught in order to be successful you have to be lucky or rely on other traits such as looks, style, charm etc. This doesn't drive people to better themselves. Then there is the fact there are a lot of single parent families so they grow up without the guidance of watching their parents making good choices. So they aren't as well educated and in turn make bad decisions such as a poor diet. It also has to do with junk food being so overly produced there that it is so cheap. Cheaper then actually good food. Soda shouldn't cost less than water. Candy and chips shouldn't cost less than fruit and vegetables. But they do. That and a lot of American don't understand nutritional values and can't tell the difference between what is good for them and what isn't. So bad choices are made.
