Have you ever used Hello Fresh and do you think it's worth it?

I don't use them because
- My parents are afraid to buy vegetables from sources they are not familiar with cause they are worried about CoVid contamination so we always shop at the same 3-4 stores for food.
- We prefer east Asian foods not included in their recipe list like home made pita wraps with bean sprouts and shredded potatoes in black vinegar and lean beef and egg and hoison oyster sauce and garlic chives etc... or bean sprouts on their own or candied pickled beets or candied bell peppers in yellow and red on their own or red bean soup
- We do not use cheese in any of our meals so their sauced pastas are irrelevant

Have used. Wasn't particularly impressed. I can measure things out for myself and save money.


I found it easier to buy one of their recipe books, pick out the ingredients for myself, and get the same result for less money.

Yes I did, but I regret it. Nobody told me about the increasing costs, there was no chance of choosing the meals, even the minimum was too much for one person, some stuff was of bad quality, and quitting it was stressful, as some costumers reported several deliveries after quitting the service. And when the people complained about the service, they first had been told they'd get vouchers, but later when they hadn't received them, there was someone else on the phone claiming it was a lie.

no... there is an amazing farm shop just down the road that costs a fraction of the price and i know where the food came from because they either grew it themselves or sourced it locally... also i can cook without some hipster recipe cards and an eco friendly cardboard box that hides a much larger carbon footprint

Just use an open-source meal planner, and buy your own stuff. You do need a degree of organization. Hello fresh recipes are also full of sodium and or sugar, thus not as healthy as they may seem, but still generally healthier than the majority of takeouts, or at the very least more hygienic.

i was temted by a coupon i got. but it's mostly way too expensive for my taste. i actually enjoy to plan meals and to buy and cook fresh anyway so for me that is not an "extra effort" i wanna pay them a huge premium to do for me.

Its way over priced for what it is. for a single person it runs close to 300 bucks a month. When the wife and i shop, we spend less than that for two people.
