That's exactly when you should NOT eat. The body cells have a devastatingly long memory. You can lose weight and when something goes wrong, you overeat, it fills those cells with the wrong carbs. Set up a meal plan with the number of carbs & calories you need for each day, based on the basic food groups and stick with it.
Thanks for the advice but I'm well aware of it all. Sometimes though, in the moment I get in my head and don't think logically about it. I just think emotionally
Been there. After my racing accident, I was massively depressed because I couldn't move. After the hospital food, I just wanted to chow down on massive amounts of carbs. I was killing myself and I didn't care. My wife snapped me out of it. She set up a menu for me that included starches, fruits and veggies, and meats, something different each day. She's the one that made me eat properly and work out to work off the excess fat that had accumulated.
