Why do you believe major restaurants chains like McDonald’s explanded beyond burgers and fries? do you agree with their choice? why or why not?

I remember hearing about McDonald's Fish Fillet in the early years. The boss was going around making sure everybody followed the McD menu. This one guy, though had a fish sandwich on his menu (not a McD fare). The reason was the Catholic community couldn't have meat on Fridays, but fish was ok. So the sandwich was brought into the menu. So adding to the menu is all about increasing revenue. The only thing that upsets me is this damn tofu "meat". No burger joint should have a tofu option. If you go to a burger joint, you want meat!!

they have to be different than all of the other places, except they will all play follow the leader, and then the other fast food places will have their version of what MacDonalds has.

I think a lot of those have expanded and given healthier choices. I do agree with that. I like the option of being able to get a halfway decent chicken salad or similar on the run.

I think the world is moving away from cheap burgers, people either want some kind of other affordable food or a fancier class of burger.

Market research and trying new products. They don’t care about what they serve. Just that they sell a lot of it.
